  • Totally enjoyed this suspenseful romance

A conspiracy ruined Chance's career. A conspiracy killed Chance's friend. A conspiracy gave Chance another chance. Dishonorably discharged, Chance was barely holding on. His only mission was looking after his friend's family. He would do anything for Luke's family. He took a job protecting a stranger in order to guarantee Luke's family a home. He should have known it would be challenging job. After all why would you hire an ex-seal for a simple job? Chance didn't know what to expect. He didn't know he would be putting his training into practice as he and Dana fly all over trying to solve a puzzle, to save the world. Danger surrounds Chance and Dana. Even worse, there were numerous groups searching for them, hunting them. Close quarters and stress need an outlet. What better outlet than sexual tension and release? Romance and love can't be far behind. Shadow of a Chance is packed with twists. I would think they were safe. They would think they were safe. We were all wrong. Dodging bullets, high speed chases, and solving puzzles make for a very dramatic story. Where is the popcorn. I really needed popcorn to chomp on. The suspense was intense. The conspiracy is real. It was hard to believe I would get my HEA. I needed the HEA after the stress of wondering who was behind it all. Mind blown.

  • I loved Chance and Dana's story.

"Shadow of a Chance" (Shadow SEALs Book 5) by Donna Michaels is a terrific read. I loved Chance and Dana's story. This story is packed with action, romance, passion, entertaining characters, military, suspense, twists, and more. I enjoyed catching up with some characters that we met in the Dangerous Curves Series. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, action, suspense, military, and series.

  • Fast-paced and impossible to put down

As soon as Charley makes a call, you know what she wants will happen, and Chance stands no, well, chance against her. He’s rightfully wary, and so is Dana, and her secret has potential to derail any hope of friendship, let alone a relationship, between them. I loved the hints that Donna Michaels drops about the types of clues that Dana is working through, and that Chance immediately spots the issue with the photograph. The ending is exciting, encouraging, and frankly awesome, and the action is fast paced and gripping. This is another great Shadow SEALs addition. It also gives glimpses into Donna Michaels’s other characters, so it set me off on a reading spree, which is the best way to end a weekend.

  • Shadow of a Chance

ARC for honest review with no compensation Shadow of a Chance by Donna Michaels is book 5 in the Shadow SEALs series by various authors. While each book is a standalone there is an underlying theme with a shadowy figure named Charley. Can’t wait for the next book in this series! Also loosely tied to the Dangerous Curves series… Chance Reynolds was chosen to work with the CIA along with his best friend but something goes terribly wrong..his friend is dead, he gets a dishonorable discharge and was to be in prison but his former retired commander interfered to keep him out. Months later he is contacted by the mysterious Charley to be a bodyguard for the daughter (Dana/Dayna) of a murdered scientist who has to go all over the country for the pieces to a classified project and keep it out of the enemy’s hands. Dana Spencer works for the CIA and is tasked with impersonating her best friend Dayna (they looks so much alike and she is in a coma) to find the pieces of the classified project with the clues the scientist left before he was murdered.. Secrets, lies, danger, stress, conspiracy, steamy, instant attraction, solving the puzzle and hopefully finding the HEA they both deserve!!

  • Great Romantic Suspense

Wow, this might be my favorite book from Donna Michaels yet. Shadow Of A Chance is a spectacular romantic suspense. Ms. Michaels has provided readers with a well-written book populated with a spectacular cast of characters. Chance was dishonorably discharged from the Navy and his SEAL brothers have turned their backs on him after a mission goes bad and his best friend dies. Chance agrees to work for an unknown woman and takes the job of protecting Dayna. Dana agrees to pretend to be her best friend Dayna after an accident leaves her in the hospital and her father dead. Dana and Chance's story is packed with drama, humor, action, sexy bits and suspense. I loved this book and look forward to my next book by Donna Michaels. Shadow Of A Chance is book 5 of the Shadow SEALs Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliffhanger. I voluntarily read a complimentary copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
