    Two Intense Dystopian Tales

In Shadows of Tomorrow: 2 Post-Apocalyptic Short Stories by Ryan Lanz, the world has become a dangerous place. People in the poisonous, lawless North fight for survival, and in the South, where humanity still clings to some semblance of civilization, people struggle to defend what they have left. In this bleak landscape, we are introduced to Nob and Jordyn, two very different people in very different circumstances, who nonetheless find themselves tested in a similar way—both of them must decide if what they had loved and believed in in the past is worth holding onto. In this collection, Lanz has given us two well-written tales with intriguing plots and compelling, well-drawn characters. The stories are tense and full of suspense, and life in this future is dangerous and violent. I found myself wanting to know more about these characters and their personal pasts and also wanting to know more about how the world got into this state. I highly recommend these stories to fans of dystopian fiction, and even though there are no zombies, I believe fans of The Walking Dead would find a lot to like here also. I look forward to seeing more from Ryan Lanz!
