    She did it again

Holy cow this lady can write, every book is a page turner that makes me loose sleep. My boyfriend has given up asking me why I’m laughing or crying or having other emotions. Jay, I love your books and you, please don’t ever stop. ‘Love and ink’

    A thrilling read

Although this is the 2nd book in the series it can also be read as a standalone as it often refers to things that happened previously. This is not for anyone easily shocked or offended. It is however a story about so much more than romance. It will grip you from the first chapter and keep you entralled until the last page. I am really looking forward to reading the next book!

    The Warner Brothers are great!

Shelter is an emotion filled book. Sutton and Emrys have already been through a lot together, and they go through a whole lot more in Shelter. They're both strong, and sometimes stubborn, individuals, and are even stronger together. They make each other better individuals without changing who they are. I loved seeing the journey they take to to get that point. It may be rough, but they need to experience it all to get to where they need to be. I really enjoyed Sutton and Em, and especially Daye, she was adorable. Shelter has a very interesting storyline that kept me intrigued and at times surprised. I always enjoy single dad stories and that was once again true with Sutton and Daye. A lot of stuff happens in Shelter, but it's not overwhelming. I actually wish there was more towards the end. With everything that happens I would have liked more after all of "that" goes down. It just seemed a tad rushed to wrap things up and I wish it would have slowed down and been drawn out a little more. I love the whole Warner gang and their personalities, they keep me entertained and intrigued. I'm excited for Escape next month and to dive into Lane's head.

Loved it - read in one sitting

Book 2 in the Getaway series follows Sutton Warner (the middle Warner brother) and Emrys (Leo’s best friend). The book pretty much follows directly on from book 1 and although it can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading Retreat first. As usual Jay Crownover hooked me in with her intense characters and unique writing style (she certainly has a way with words). Sutton continues to push Emrys away, unable to face her following the dreadful things that happened while they were held captive in Retreat (book 1). A story full of emotion, drama, and with a total whodunnit vibe going on I was addicted. After been shunned by Sutton, Emrys rethinks her life and decides to do what’s right by herself and those she loves. If that means defying Sutton and returning to Wyoming then so be it. Sparks fly and emotions are tested in this rollercoaster of a story that challenges both of them in ways they could never imagine. I've got to say, I did not want this book to end, as soon as I'd finished that last chapter I felt bereft and empty and I've not felt like that in a long time. What on earth am I to read now?
