    Excellent Read

Sheltered by the SEAL: The Inheritance by Amy Gamet is book number two in the "HERO Force" series. This is Jessa McConnell and Jax Andersson's story. Jax was the commander of the Hero Force when Jessa's husband was killer on one of their missions. Jessa blames Jax for her husband and child's death. She is angry and wants revenge. Jax understands Jessa's anger at him. He feels guilty and responsible for Jessa's husband's death. But, that is not all Jax feels guilty about. Jax has been attracted to Jessa but she belonged to his friend/teammate so she was off limits. Now, that his friend is gone can he control his feelings for Jessa? Jessa changed her identity in order to hide from Jax but he still finds her. This is a good thing because someone is out to kill Jessa. Will Jax be able to protect her? This is a wonderful story of two people that are hurting from a loss in their lives that find unexpected comfort and passion from each other. The story also includes suspense and a mystery. Amy Gamet has another winner. I enjoy escaping into her stories. FYI, includes mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

    SMOKIN'HOT!!!

4.5 Stars The story features Jax Andersson, member of HERO and Jessa McConnell, widow to Ralph McConnell, HERO member KIA. Jessica was so angry and held so much resentment towards Jax that I didn't see ANY future for them. The story was well thought out from beginning to end. The storyline made smooth transitions from one set of emotions to the next. The character development was perfect. I loved it! Jax was a little less emotional than I would have liked but in the bedroom his emotions were perfect. Kind of dark and broody. SMOKIN' HOT! I'm looking forward to the next book by this talented author.

    Contemporary Romance

Sheltered by a SEAL by Amy Gamet Inheritance #12 and HERO Force #2 When you have lost the love of your life and his child, still in your womb, you must go through the five stages of grief before moving on and that is just what Jessa is in the midst of doing. With her anger focused Jax “Ace” Andersson – she has determined he is the one to pay and give her pound of flesh. Poor unsuspecting Jax! One night is all it took for their lives to become entwined though it took a lot longer for them to work their way through the minefield left in the wake of Jax’s divorce, the widowing of Jessa and the hit put out on the inheritor of a seemingly valueless book. I enjoyed this story and having read book one in the HERO Force book liked meeting up with characters in the series. I have to say that I was angry with Jessa during the first half or so of the book but that gradually changed over time. The interactions were intense, the dialogue at times cutting, the emotions intense and the story worth reading. I am not sure that the recuperative powers of both Jax and Jessa would have been as rapid as portrayed in the last bit of the book – not after sustaining the injuries they did – but it is fiction and the two did need a bit of cuddling so – why not fudge a bit. Thank you to the author for the ARC – this is my honest review. 4.5 Stars NOTE: The 5 stages of grief and loss are: 1. Denial and isolation; 2. Anger; 3. Bargaining; 4. Depression; 5. Acceptance. People who are grieving do not necessarily go through the stages in the same order or experience all of them. (for those that might not know what they are)

Lots of fast-paced action and intrigue

Lots of fast-paced action and intrigue and the romantic tension between the hero and heroine was compelling. I adored Jax. Here's this proud military man doing his job day in and day out to make the world safer for the rest of us and the world just keeps crapping in his cornflakes. I spent most of the book not liking Jessa very much. I was very relieved when she was able to grow past her hurt and anger and I was able to like her finally. And the set-up for the next book has me counting down the hours until it's release. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
