    The End of the Beginning

Rough Rider readers beware!!!! This is the last! And it is the beginning! Confused you yet? In the future, for all of LJ’s future RR readers, this will be the start of a wonderful journey. I read it with anxiety in my heart but smiling because I have copies of everything!!! The story of the McKay’s is legendary. It was my first Western series, my first introduction to Lorelei James and my first series with all seriously hot alpha males….I binged for days. I started watching rodeos on TV. I noticed clouds that looked like horses and barns. Get what I’m saying? You will be hooked. And the final story is the very beginning. Silas and Jonas McKay. The original McKay boys. Historical fiction hasn’t been for me in the past. (see what I did). I have trouble visualizing the times. Well, Silas and Jonas McKay just took me back to the 1890’s and I don’t know if I want to come back, unless it’s with some McKay’s…..Do NOT miss this story. If you haven’t read the series, lucky you. You have the rest of your summer reading planned already. If you are a RR freak, be prepared.

    My favourite book of 2020!

I wish I could rate Silver Tongued Devil 10 stars 🤩🤩 I'll start by saying that Silver Tongued Devil is the best book I read in 2020 and I don't even read historical romance! Lorelei James is a master storyteller and Silver Tongued Devil is one of her best books. I just couldn't put my Kindle down- I took a day off from work to read the book nonstop. Silas McKay first love was ranching until he meets the news school teacher, Dinah Thompson and can't take his eyes off her and he just know they are meant to be together. Dinah moved to rural Wyoming to teach and become a self-reliant woman but after meeting Silas her plans soon change and she allow Silas to court her. Zeke West is Silas enemy and he is trying to do everything he can to make Silas' life living hell including threating Dinah and his twin brother Jonas. Dinah and Silsas' love story is amazing, so many emotions and passion. I love Dinah – she is such a strong heroine and I just loved to read how she handle Silas and how she wasn't afraid to speak her mind. Silas is a misunderstood hero, his feeling run so much deeper than it first seems and is willing to do anything for Dinah. He may not have a lot of money but he's trying to make Dinah happy with small romantic gestures. I don't want to give much of the plot away but I will say you get 2 love stories in this amazing book, both Silas and Jonas. While reading Silver Tongued Devil I felt like I was in the West back in 1897 , I felt so connected to all the characters I just couldn't read fast enough to learn what happened but also I enjoyed reading it so much I just didn't want it to end. This is a standalone historical romance - a prequel to the McKay family saga- you can read and enjoy the book as a standalone.

    What an Amazing Ride!

Yee Haw! What an amazing ride! Lorelei James' Silver-Tongued Devil is the prequel to her famous Rough Riders series. Ms. James takes us back to where it all began with Silas, Dinah, Ruby and Jonas. There have been several "hints" throughout the series teasing us all with little nuggets of history and now it's all rolled up into one great story. This story captivated from Page One and I loved the opportunity to read more about how the McKay legacy began! Excellent addition!

    Rich with emotions!

I don’t even know where to begin??? Well, firstly, I loved this book and everything about. The imagery was perfect, and I could ‘see’ the town, the ranch, the surroundings. I felt the emotions of the characters, all the worry, pain, anger, and love. I cried when they cried. I laughed when they laughed. I swooned and squirmed when they had affectionate, and more, moments. But the thing that really struck the most from the story was the connection between these two McKay brothers. The bond they had, they held, that kept them connected and made them who they were as individuals and strengthened them whether together or apart. There were moments in this book when the emotions snuck up on me, made me laugh when I didn’t think it was going that way. There were moments that had me burst into tears when it was completely unexpected. All the moments, all the story, brought about epic love stories that filled by heart with happiness
