A dark and sexy paranormal romance

I received a free copy of this book from IndieSage PR in exchange for my honest review. Sin and Sorrow is the story of a vampire named Marie Aberdein who lost her husband to the MacLeod Vampire Hunters. This tragic event leads to the premature birth and death of her son. Two centuries later the vampire hunters strike again and kill what family she has left. Upon losing the man she calls Father, Marie seeks revenge against the MacLeods. Marie's plan includes getting close to the children of the current MacLeod hunter. This leads to unexpected feelings and what some might call a forbidden romance. This was my first book from author Marion Croslydon, and it did not disappoint! The fact this is vampire tale set in Scotland was enough to grab my attention. Croslydon's writing and story is what kept it. The book was filled with suspense, romance, and action. I cannot wait to read whatever Croslydon publishes next!

    Fantastic!

Well, when I first read the blurb I for sure didn't expect the story to turn out so good. So kudos to the author for accomplishing that. Sin and Sorrow is a fantastic new adult/paranormal/romance thriller that captivates the reader till the end and is told mostly from Marie's point of view, only the epilogue is from Gabriel's POV. Also, the plot is exactly as described in blurb. I have to admit,at first I wasn't sure I would like the story, since we have on one side Gabriel with his then girlfriend (but their relationship wasn't serious) and on the other side Marie, who's being, you could say, stalked by her long term admirer that also turns out to be one of the story's villains. In the end it worked out better than expected. In the beginning I didn't know what to make out of Gabriel's character. He had conflicted feelings about Marie and about what he thought was best for her. His family had certain expectations and plans for his life that at the time didn't include Marie. Once he giva into his feelings for her, he was so sweet and caring but also very protective of her. It was great to see his journey to overcome his fears and finally start living his life like he wanted and not had to. And as for Marie, at first she was full of hurt and was only looking for revenge but as she got to know Gabriel she couldn't help but to fall in love with him. She's been through a lot and I really hoped she would find some peace. Thankfully it all turned out well, both for her and Gabriel. The secondary characters were also enjoyable and I couldn't help but hope for Lawrence and Lizzy to find their happy ending, too. This is absolutely a book I'd recommend! :)
