    Sisters By Choice

We get the chance to go back to Blackberry Island and we get to know these cousins in real life but they really are more like sisters. They are as different as can with different problems but when reality comes calling they pull together. I really enjoyed this one and not going to give anything away since I really want you to pick it up and form your own opinions. It is not a romance, it is a woman's lit, and it is fantastic.

Not at all what I expected!

This is book 4 in the Blackberry Island series and it features cousins, Sophie, Kristine and Heather. Sophie is a mess! She has major issues with being in a relationship because of her past. She’s got an unnatural OCD with running her multi million dollar cat supply empire, which is REALLY strange. Even though she hires people to run certain departments, she can’t seem to stop interfering with their jobs. Kristine just wants to open her own bakery after being a stay at home mom and wife for so long. Her husband was really a jerk about it all. Heather just wants to live life for herself instead of taking care of her totally able-bodied mother, Amber. Amber is an awful person. She’s rude, entitled like no one I’ve ever seen and just wants to be taken care of, even though she is 100% able to take care of herself. I think I liked only one character in the whole book and that was Kristine. The family dynamics were interesting but the romance was horrible and made ZERO sense. It probably would have been better with no romance at all. I’m a big fan of this author but this book was a HUGE let down for me.

Full of Emotions and Family Drama

This was a hard book to put down, so full of emotion and family drama. The story centers around four women that are cousins in Blackberry Island. By the way, I just love this little island. Sophie looses her business, CK in a fire and decides to relocate to Blackberry Island to expand her business, she is use to micromanaging but soon finds out this will no longer work. He one big love is her business and the love of cats but is afraid to open her heart to anyone else, including Dugan. Kristine, has been perfect wife/mother and bakes on the side but now wants more. She wants to open her own bakery. But will it be her marriage or life long dream of owning her own bakery? Amber, oh what a mess she is!! She is the first of always saying why me and oh pitty me! She just needs to grow up. I must say, I did not like Amber. Heather, Amber's daughter is the one I felt for. She gave up her life for her mother and always had a hard time saying no. But now her dream is to go away to college and living her dream. I think we can relate to all of these women at some time of our life's, hopefully not to much of Amber though. We all need to take a chance and be brave for change to happen.

    Fun book

Three friends, all on different paths who make tough decisions to follow their dreams. I loved the characters, except Amber. It must have been so fun to write Sophie, because she has so many things going on in her head. I was happy for her in the end, but I thought her relationship with Dugan was weird. I was really into Kristine, and how she went for her dream even though the consequences could be devastating. I stayed up late a couple of nights reading, because I wanted to know if she gave in. When I first encountered Amber, I didn’t know if I could finish the book because she was such a witch. I wanted her punished for being such an incredibly bad person, but I kept reading in the hopes that she would get what she deserved. I would recommend this book. It’s a fun read.

    Great Read!!!

This is #4 in the Blackberry Island Series and it was a great read. Even though I hadn't read the others. Sofie Lane had started her Cat Toy Empire in college and was really doing well in L.A. Until one night, it all goes up in flames. She returns to Blackberry, Island to rebuild. "Lead, follow or get out of the way, she reminded herself. Winners win. I am the champion. It's up to me. I can do this." For Sofie, she was in total control of her business and it was hard to change. But with her new employees, together they were a great team. I liked this author and her humor. The characters were great. Thank you publisher and NetGalley for the eARC
