    Romance with just enough humor

This was a fun book! I love it when a story can balance humor with romance and this one did it really well. There were plenty of touching moments as well to really tell a satisfying story. I didn't want to put this book down and ended up reading it in a single day. I am so glad that I decided to pick this one up. Sam and Leah are the focus of this book. Sam is in construction and has sworn off any relationships for the time being after his most recent disaster. Leah owns a local bakery and isn't sure she will ever meet the right guy. Leah also has some body image issues that pop up pretty early in the book. On a whim, Sam tells Leah's ex fiance that they are engaged and soon everyone knows about it. They must now spend some time with family before they can "break up" and make everyone happy. As soon as I read this book's summary and noted that there would be a fake engagement, I quickly guessed that they would end up falling for each other. I was right but the way it happened was a treat to watch. This pair fit so nicely together and Sam really seemed to become a part of Leah's family almost immediately. The chemistry between the pair was well done and I was really wanting to see them make it work. Everything about their relationship felt genuine to me. The humor in this book was well done. I didn't find myself laughing out loud but I was rather amused quite a few times. Leah and Sam both had a great sense of humor. I really liked some of the things Sam said to try to make Leah's family dislike him. The only thing that I didn't care for was how much focus was put on Leah's weight both by Leah and her mother. I understand why it was a part of the story but wish it had been scaled back just a bit. I would recommend this book to fans of contemporary romance. This is the first book by Alison Bliss that I have had a chance to read but I do plan to read more of her work in the future. I am really looking forward to the next book in this series. I received an advance reader edition of this book from Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via NetGalley.

    Size Matters by Alison Bliss

Another fantastic novel by Alison Bliss! SIZE MATTERS was everything I've come to expect and look forward to when I pick up one Alison Bliss's books. Her writing style is consistently laugh out loud funny, down to earth, sexy as hell, and all about characters you can't help but love. Leah and Sam each had their issues which created a rocky start. Sam was a good guy at heart, but he really had a knack for sticking his foot in his mouth by saying things that could be taken the wrong way... unfortunately too many times Leah, being a bit insecure about her size, did just that. These two were crazy attracted to each other, and thanks to Sam telling her Mother they were engaged, they had plenty of time to spend together and realize what sizzling chemistry there was between them. In some ways Sam was all over the place trying to figure out his true feelings, but that was what made him seem more real to me. I mean who among us, male or female, wouldn't have cold feet after getting away from an ex who was just a bit crazy? And being a big curvy woman myself, I could totally relate to Leah and her struggle to see herself as sexy. Don't get me started on her mother. I loved the feisty side of Leah and cheered how she stood up for herself when she'd had enough. This book is well written with a great theme, some deliciously sexy scenes, great characters, a steady pace and a fabulous ending! 4.5 stars ~Complimentary copy downloaded from NetGalley. Review and opinions are my own.

    Loved this Book!!!

Size Matters by Alison Bliss.....Oh my goodness, I absolutely loved this book, Alison Bliss gives us a sweet beautiful story that makes you happy. This is one of those stories you don't want to end, you will be smiling on the inside and outside. Leah is a beautiful plus size woman with some insecurities and an awful mom. Sam is so hot and comes to Leah's rescue by saying they are engaged. Can these two find love? You will not want to miss this book, make sure to pick this up. I voluntarily reviewed an advance readers copy of this book.

Wowsa! Size Matters is a pure delight!

Wowsa! In a world full of Skinny Minnies, Size Matters is a pure delight! This is the first book of Ms. Bliss' that I've read, but it certainly won't be the last! I'm not usually one for contemporary romances, but right from the get-go, Size Matters caught my eye. First, the heroine is a normal-sized gal in a world full of skinny Minnies, and completely relatable. It intrigued me from the start. So, I pre-ordered it. On release day, I got it on my Kindle, and I opened it. And at 6:15 AM, I started reading. And reading. I missed doing yoga. The dog and cats yelled at me until I finally fed them. I almost forgot about my coffee, but with Kindle in hand, I settled down with my joe. And I laughed my butt off at the breakfast table while my boys looked at me like I was a lunatic. At 10:15 AM, I finished, reading all the way through the next book releasing in 2017, Val's teaser, and I actually missed these characters! Wowsa! Ms. Bliss, I absolutely LURVED this book!! Sam and Leah were the perfect hero and heroine, and I fell in love with them right off the bat. I'm a little miffed because now that you've teased me, I want to go right to reading Leah's best friend, Val's, story too! Best line ever, from Val to Leah: "No wonder you're ignoring Max's warning about him being the anatomical equivalent of a Ken doll." Oh my--I nearly peed my pants! And, thank you for showing the world that not all men want stick figures. Some love curves, and Leah totally rocked them :)
