    Loved loved loved this book!

This is the first book review I have actually ever written. Which is strange because I always depend on book reviews in order to choose my next binge worthy book! And this was one of those books. I could not put this one down. I even considered calling in sick to work to finish it. Since I’ve never written one of these, I’m not quite sure what else to include without spoiling anything. I’m sure you can read some other reviews to get to know what the book was about. But I will say that you must read this book!

    Complex World and Relationships

It's been a while since I read a Viking story, and this was a great way to jump back into that kind of world! The story is packed with all the action I could have hoped for, as well as great character development. It had some slow moments after the explosive beginning, leading to great character growth from the Eelyn. The base of the story revolved around Eelyn and her brother Iri, as well as her bond with Fiske. The characters were very strong. Eelyn acted the way I anticipated she would, which made her believable. The entire arc with Eelyn and Iri and their fractured relationship was one of my favourite parts. They have a great bond and I liked seeing their growth and progression, especially on Eelyn's part. I found the romance with Fiske to be a little rushed, and would have liked to get to know him better since he was so aggressive originally. The world building and history of this book were great and led to an ending that had me satisfied and wondering where the series can go next. I definitely recommend it to fans of Vikings, strong fighting women, and complex familial relationships.
