  • An entertaining read

Smoke is an excellent start to this author’s new Carelli Family Saga series! It is a quick and enchanting read that captured my attention immediately and left me fully entertained until the end. This book has a bit of everything with likable characters, swoon-worthy moments, heat, and action. Smoke is just delectable with a commanding presence, but also with a huge capacity to love and a protective nature. I found him positively endearing. Maggie is also a likable heroine with a big heart, but she is also cautious. Her backstory is heartbreaking but the author beautifully highlights the inner strength that she possesses. The connection between these two is palpable, however there are potential road blocks in their way. I loved how the author portrayed the family dynamics and the various roles that they played in the story. They offered moments of levity, a sense of love & support, but also with enough intrigue to want to know more about each of them. Smoke is a standalone novel with no cliffhanger, but the author does set up some plot points for the next character’s novel in the series. Overall, I really enjoyed this read with it’s interesting storyline and likable characters. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.

  • Love & sexiness & danger!

I’m sooo happy we get more of Smoke & Maggie, and Matteo of course (I love that kid 😍). We met them in Santa Baby, when sparks flew between the two. Now, it’s been months, Maggie’s still there with her little guy, and try as he might to not admit it, Smoke just keeps falling more & more for those two. When danger comes around, there’s no more denying how much they mean to him, and just what he’ll do to protect them. I loved their story, their chemistry, all the feels. And I’m excited that this is the start of a new series. Can’t wait for more!

  • Twist and Turns

Smoke by Eden Butler is a standalone romance in The Carelli Family Saga. This is told in dual point of views with a single mom and a hero who want to protect her and her son. Maggie and her son were taken in by the Carelli family as their own and have do everything the can to help Maggie. Maggie and Smoke have secretly been seeing each other for six months wanting to stay away from a relationship but eventually lines get blurred. Will Smoke realize his feeling for Maggie and Matteo before it's too late. The book had its twist and surprises that were glazed over but not talked about til it happened. I enjoyed the secondary characters storyline and look forward to reading their books.
