As much as i read it will be a great read

This is from a sneak peak only into the story Smokescreen. I have followed forensic sculpture expert Eve Duncan for years. She is always doing all she can to reconstruct the skulls of children's found to give them back their identity. Her passion for learning to be the top expert in the field was fueled by the search for her own daughter years ago. If you haven't read those go find them they are amazing. This story also brings in two special characters. Jill Cassidy, a Pulitzer Prize winning freelance writer. Who was recently in Maldara in central Africa, and Jed Novak the CIA agent who found her beaten and raped in the jungle. Not dwelling on her recent attack, she will deal with the nightmares later, she passionately seeks out Eve to help the families of the innocent murdered children who bodies were just hacked and burned. Eve is the only one she wants for the reconstructions. She must have the best. Jill will do whatever it takes to appeal to Eve's nature she's studied her to learn what will work to get her help. Eve's been implored by Jill to reconstruct these murdered children and reunite them with their families. She must do it. Safe or not bringing peace to 27 families to be able to bury their murdered children is something she can't not do. Eve Duncan sets off to Maldara, a place of civil war and unrest that is just beginning to come to an end. However, far from safe. The hired mercenary Varak, involved in human trafficking and enjoyed all sorts of evil doing was leading a militia machete troops that were responsible for the killing thousands including children. Has been stopped and killed. Now the reconstruction of the country and lives of the people begins. Her family will not be happy she's going. Joe, the detective who helped her search for her daughter and never left her life, her daughter Jane and son Michael are very protective of Eve. All the characters in Iris's books are so heartwarming and real. You want to follow all of them to see where life brings them next. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this ARC of a sort look into the story. It's a must read and I can't wait to get the rest of the story.

    so many twists and turns

WOW! Smokescreen is an amazing addition to an already wonderful series. Eve Duncan and her family are characters that I feel that I have gotten to know very well while reading Iris Johansen’s books. Yet, with each book I learn something new, meet a new friend, and realize how much more I want to know about Eve. Just her job intrigues me but then add all the unique places that she gets to travel and the people that she meets and her story becomes a book that I cannot put down. Smokescreen has Eve being tempted to change her plans and take on a new workload. Of course, it can’t be that easy. She travels to an African village and things get interesting. I was pulled in from the first meeting of Jill and Eve, intrigued at how Joe would react to Eve’s change in plans, and curious at what twists and turns would be coming Eve’s way. I was never disappointed. The book kept me on my toes and my brain was always trying to guess what would happen next. Everything about Smokescreen was perfect. The storyline was intriguing, the characters were fascinating, and the twists and turns kept me guessing. This book is part of a series, but each book can be real without reading the others.
