    Funny, snarky and sexy

Kudos to the goddess of Laguna Beach, Tara Lain. I had so much fun reading this story. It was hard to put the book down, and I read it in one session. JJ is so sweet, snarky and sassy. I loved the way he talked and walked, with his fluttery hands and swaying hips. When thinking about him, he looks more like a twink than a tall guy of 6 foot 4. I don’t know how anyone could not see JJ is gay. And that is what this story all about. Appearances. He doesn’t think that the tough cop, Ryan Star, would even look twice at him if he knew who JJ really is. Ryan looks indeed twice, even more times than that at JJ and sees what JJ wants him to see. But Ryan looks deeper than that. Ryan might be the bad-ass cop, but he has reasons to stay in the closet. Reading about his past, had me tearing up for this man. So, it is not all fun and laughter in this book; there are some emotional situations as well. And don’t get me started about the sex. Oh my, steamy and hot doesn’t come close. It was predictable that the deceit has to come out, but it didn’t evolve into very much drama, thankfully. Both JJ and Ryan know they are the one, even when the odds were against them. I loved reading about the other guys in the series. They become so familiar. It is like spending time with old friends. And we get to know some new friends, the spunky twins, Robin and Bobby. I am excited to read what Tara Lain has in stall for those two.
