  • Delightful Story

Young widow Holly Farthing attends a house party after she learns Viscount Ivy will be attending. She’s had a crush on her brother’s friend since she was young, and she’s been hoping he’ll notice her. Adam Ivy likes Holly but thinks they’re only friends, even though maybe he’d like more. When an unscrupulous neighbor attending the party threatens Holly, Adam is quick to offer help, which ends up with Holly and Adam agreeing to a fake engagement. Of course, neither one really wants it to stay fake and they get the opportunity to spend more time together to figure everything out since the house party is snowed in. It was fun to see how everything all worked out for this sweet couple and even though it was short, it was a delightful story. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

  • A wonderful Christmas read

I love Christmas time romances because they always have a magical element and this one has that plus a little mystery. I couldn’t put it down because you could tell there was a spark between just waiting to explode. They’ve known each other since they were kids and everyone knows there’s a spark there and her friend uses the house party as the perfect excuse to play matchmaker. When another guest threatens her in multiple ways the fake engagement is the only way to stall while they figure out if what the man says is true and why. That fake engagement quickly turned to more as they spent more time together. I loved how they fell into acting like a couple without a thought and kept shocking each other. When the truth came out it I wasn’t expecting all of it and loved how that ended. Holly seems so shy and quiet on the outside, but she’s really a strong and fiery woman. She loved her husband and having her memories of him threatened sent her into a panic, but she wanted the truth and wouldn’t be bullied. I loved how open and honest she was with Adam and that she had to know the truth. Adam thought he jumped to protect Holly because she’s his friend’s sister, but his heart knew the real reason and it quickly showed when they were alone. I loved that he thought he was just protecting her, but everyone saw the love between them. Copy provided for an honest and voluntary review.

  • A Charming Christmas Romance

This was a light Christmas novella that helped get me into the spirit of Christmas. It was a sweet romance between childhood friends that were uncertain of each other’s feelings. It was a short read, but perfect for a short holiday feel-good story. Holly Farthing had been widowed three years ago and was talked into attending a house party at her best friend’s house. She only agreed because the gentleman she had a childhood crush on, Adam, was also attending the house party. Holly was too shy to capture his attention but when the house party is extended because of snow, she might have her chance. Viscount Adam Ivy was surprised to see Holly at the house party by herself. He thought she would be remarried by now. He is attracted to Holly but doesn’t know if she is interested in more than friendship because she is so quiet and shy. He quickly comes to her rescue by proposing to her when her reputation is at risk. Can he convince her that he has feelings for her and didn’t propose out of obligation? I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

  • 4.5 Stars!!

4.5 Stars!! This was a great novella! It was a perfect length and the story was unique, I’ve never read a book with the same plot as this, with a HEA ending. I only wish the story had an epilogue! But if you’re looking for a Christmas holiday quick read, I’d definitely recommend this novella! *I am voluntarily leaving a review for an ARC that was provided to me by the author!*

  • House party

Holly Farthing wasn't in Christmas Spirit. Her closest friend was having an house party and didn't want to disapprove her. Being a widow she wasn't looking for a romance. One if her brother's friend Adam, now Viscount Ivy, had never paid the slightest bit of attention to shy, quiet Holly. Viscount Adam Ivey was invited to a house party hoping to see Holly Farthing. Holly was a widow just coming out of mourning. One of closest friends was having a house party and wasn't sure of she was ready to rejoin society. Adam has always liked and enjoyed Holly. One of house guests had a pass dealing with Holly's late husband who owned his money.. He demanded $3000 iou or Holly could have an affair with. Adam step in and was determine to help and protect Holly .
