  • Action-packed, emotional and thought provoking.

Solitary Man by Diane Benefiel is a standalone that delivers a multi-faceted storyline, with plenty of action, danger and intensely emotional subject matter throughout. The effects of the war in Afghanistan are detailed along with the fallout of a fatally wounded soldier. I enjoyed the dynamic between Ryder and Brenna as they dealt with grief and loss, and the unexpected attraction that developed along the way. This is a fast-paced, easy read that I’m sure many readers will find thoroughly entertaining. “I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review”

  • Amazing Book

This book takes you on a journey of how fragile life is and not take things for granted. Ryder promises to protect and take care of the wife of his dying best friend but he does not realise how hard that task is going to be. Brenna's husband died in Afghanistan while on active duty and now over a year later she realise that her life is in danger but she does not know why. Will Ryder be able to protect Brenna and have a chance of happiness at last or will everything fall apart. Wow i loved this book so much and look forward to reading more of Diane's books as they are well written and worth reading. • Enthralling Suspense!

Wow did I get swept away with Brenna and Ryder! Solitary Man is an enthralling, suspenseful, romance. Brenna, a military widow, is in grave danger. She's tough, very strong willed, and stubborn to a fault. She's more levelheaded than most. Not knowing who to trust, she relies on her Grumpy Neighbor, albeit, very unwillingly. Ryder is the strong, silent type. His determination and loyalty is swoon-worthy. The focus and attentive nature, while battling his own demons makes you fall in love. I was on the edge my seat while reading Solitary Man. The story was thick of suspense and sexual tension between Brenna and Ryder. The story unraveled perfectly, with gasp worthy moments popping up. A highly recommended suspenseful tale. *Review Copy requested and reviewed on behalf of OMGReads*

  • I live it!

Honouring a promise to a lost military buddy, Ryder returns to his childhood home and keeps an eye on the widow. She teaches school and calls him her grumpy neighbor. Barriers are broken when Brenna seems to be suffering from a rash of “accidents”. Now they just have to find a way to stop the attacks and reach their HEA. I am sure that yo7 will enjoy reading bout their journey!
