    The last unattached Southerland

I’m fairly new to the Southerlands and am enjoying them so much. Adam, as the last unattached member of his family is looking to settle down. Erica, a young widow who is new in town meets Adam through her young son. She also has a connection with the Southerlands through his brother. I’ve enjoyed reading about them getting to know one another and the issues that each one faces. I’m looking forward to going back to reading this entire series because this family is quite interesting.

    A great read

I very much enjoyed this book, the final story of the series. Adam Southerland, a detective, catches one of a group of young tearaways who are spray painting the wall of the town antique shop. When the boy, Jason Michaels tells him his father is dead Adam decides that he will make him clean up the mess rather than give him a police record, so instead takes him home to talk to his mother. He is attracted to Erica, and while they are discussing Jason's punishment he learns that Erica's husband Tim had been a marine in the unit commanded by Adam's brother Travis, who had been the only survivor from the unit. Travis had been seriously wounded, both physically, and mentally by the loss of his entire unit. This is not only a sweet and poignant love story between Adam and Erica, it is also about the healing of a young boy who is angry with the world over the death of his dad, and that part is very sensitively written, you cannot help but love Jason. A book well worth reading. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed are entirely my own.
