    Thanks for your feedback!

    Hard read, but well done.

***I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are 100% my own.*** This book wasn’t an easy read. I will be MOST upfront and tell you that this book wasn’t flowers and chocolate. I have read a few stories that involve this sort of thing and most of them bother in the sense that I think the heroine of the story is an idiot and the hero needs to be mutilated. And so when the request to review went out, I was hesitant because I generally am not fond of dark romance. I have read a few, though, that were stellar, even if I’m left confused in the end. Besides that, I LOVE Ms. Sloane’s other works (The Blindfold Series), so I thought I’d give this one a shot. Let me be clear in this, and the author is VERY clear in this as well. There is graphic depictions of non-consensual sex. This isn’t something she’s shied away from saying. It happens in this book. And I’ve read stories that have that, and though they make me MOST uncomfortable, not one of them sank me down as far as this one did. It isn’t the Hollywood-ized version of rape. It isn’t what politicians would tout as “legitimate” rape. It is something that is all too familiar to entirely too many women. And it was a HARD pill to swallow. What made this scene so hard to take was the EMOTIONAL ride we took with the heroine. And it was hard. I had to put the book down for a while. It TRIGGERED too much. So, if this sort of thing triggers you, DO NOT READ IT. Don’t even ATTEMPT to. And that, too, is clearly stated by the author in the front content. She even encourages you to get a refund. That being said. All that warning BEING said…I’ve read worse published by Amazon. So, I personally don’t understand the ban on the book. There are quite a few other books in this same vein on there, yet unlike those books…the hero owns up to his actions and tries to do right. His methods need work, he’s not a sympathetic character, but he’s the most moral and just out of those in his circle. Which is sad. How did I feel about this book? Honestly, I liked it. It was hard. Ms. Sloane sold me on the fact that her hero is a true product of his environment, but he’s the BEST person he knows how to be. He’s completely, irredeemably flawed, but he’s doing the best that he knows how. Ms. Sloane sold me on the fact that her heroine truly was intelligent and she was good, and SHE was able to inspire her hero to be a better man. This is definitely not a book for everyone. This isn’t something I’d openly recommend to people. This isn’t the “If you like blah blah, then read this.” type of book. I would recommend it if someone asked me about this particular type of book, because it’s so well written. Ms. Sloane takes the reader on an emotional journey. She sets the tone early that this will not be pleasant, but by the end, we’re left feeling satisfied with its conclusion. The ending felt RIGHT for the characters, regardless of the beginning. And in most stories, this isn’t something that needs to be said, but all things considered, that’s a feat in this type of story. Most of the time the ending feels contrived and forced, or at the very least unnatural. I know this is a long review, but this is a very difficult book.

    OMG Kudos to Nikki!!!

OMG this book is so good!!! Nikki has delivered a 5 star dark romance. Yes it is romance but so dark...I am a dark fan so I was enthralled from the very first page to the very last!!! Addison a hard working student has never really experienced life meets the wicked hero at a frat party and sparks fly. It is an emotional roller coaster that grabs onto your dark side and gives you that extra that only Nikki can deliver. Luka sucks Addison in and wraps her tight into his web of darkness and takes her heart and soul along for the ride. Addison struggles with her own emotions as she goes further into his world and starts to question her own needs and where she belongs...is it with him here in this world or does she still want to go back ad be plain Addison... Great book from beginning to end and Kudos to Nikki for a job well done!!! I received an ARC in exchange for an HONEST REVIEW for Rockstar Book

    HIGHLY recommended dark read!!

Holy hell was this book incredible!? With a dark and twisted storyline, I found myself getting sucked in from the start... a story that you almost don't want to read yet can't turn away. Addison is the "perfect" college student, never parties, always does her best and works hard to ensure her future of becoming a surgeon. When she runs into Luka at her very first frat party, the older guy she has been fantasizing about for years, her entire future ends up in his hands... Now she has no choice left but to survive... and she may forever regret it. This story was hot as hell, pushed some dark lines and I LOVED every minute of it!? HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended dark read!

    Dark, twisty, and hot!

Sordid has been banned by Amazon for being way too hot! But don’t despair...it’s available on all the other major book retailers. I agree with Amazon, it was hot but in such a way that I loved it. This book comes with a warning that and if you are a sensitive reader, this book is not for you. Was it any worse than other books I have read? I don’t think so. There is an act of non-consensual sex and kidnapping, but as I mentioned, I have read books with similar plot lines before that are best-sellers. About the book now. Addison is a driven serious college student on her way to med school. All she does is study and study more. Deciding to accompany her partying roommate to a frat party, her life from what she knows changes that night when she meets one of her long time crushes. Addison had admired Luka from afar two years ago when he was a TA in one of her college classes. Luka happens to be at the frat party supervising his reckless, irresponsible young brother. Luka recognizes Addison and strikes up a conversation with her. They soon move to a quieter more private section of the house to continue talking. As things become hot and heavy, the very inexperienced Addison likes the way Luka is making her feel but thinks that things are moving too fast until they move to the point of no return. Drunk, upset, and no longer a virgin, Addison begins to get upset which moves Luka into a plan that keeps him from going to jail and Addison with him for his pleasure. Sordid moves from there into what Addison and Luka’s life now looks like and how each adjusts to it. As I mentioned previously, I loved Addison and Luka’s story. Did they come together conventionally? No. But the writing was good and Nikki wrote a very interesting and reader engaging book. This was a book that I didn’t want to put down and quit reading to go do those silly life things like sleep, interact with my family, and so on. I wanted to stress that I don’t agree with some of the actions of the characters in book but as a reader, I can move beyond that part of the book and see the rest of story as a form of entertainment. Remember, authors put warnings in their books for a purpose and if you are an especially sensitive reader, it would probably be a good idea to bypass this book.

Be brave and get get ready for the confusing heat!

You know that saying "you get what you wish for?" Yeah well Addison never expected what she wished for to be what she actually got. Looking from afar she wanted to get his attention but not wanting to have to face it if she did. See, a shy person longs for what they can not have, dreaming of being brave and daring, but never getting the courage to do so. Luka, had noticed her and also wanted to approach her but when he finally had the opportunity he couldn't find her. Until he did. This book is of such a taboo nature that Amazon banned it. But doesn't something forbidden make it more enticing? You will not be disappointed, this book is steamy forbidden and sexily dangerous. It delves into Addison's mind twisting and fighting against her inner voice to accept or not accept. I found it hauntingly beautiful, dangerous and fragile at the same time. Hypnotized by the story line I read it till the words blurred, then I got up and had a cool drink of water....HOT!!! Everything you would expect with a Nikki Sloane book you get it all here in this amazing read. Banned or not grab this book.
