    Thanks for your feedback!

    Hard read, but well done.

***I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are 100% my own.*** This book wasn’t an easy read. I will be MOST upfront and tell you that this book wasn’t flowers and chocolate. I have read a few stories that involve this sort of thing and most of them bother in the sense that I think the heroine of the story is an idiot and the hero needs to be mutilated. And so when the request to review went out, I was hesitant because I generally am not fond of dark romance. I have read a few, though, that were stellar, even if I’m left confused in the end. Besides that, I LOVE Ms. Sloane’s other works (The Blindfold Series), so I thought I’d give this one a shot. Let me be clear in this, and the author is VERY clear in this as well. There is graphic depictions of non-consensual sex. This isn’t something she’s shied away from saying. It happens in this book. And I’ve read stories that have that, and though they make me MOST uncomfortable, not one of them sank me down as far as this one did. It isn’t the Hollywood-ized version of rape. It isn’t what politicians would tout as “legitimate” rape. It is something that is all too familiar to entirely too many women. And it was a HARD pill to swallow. What made this scene so hard to take was the EMOTIONAL ride we took with the heroine. And it was hard. I had to put the book down for a while. It TRIGGERED too much. So, if this sort of thing triggers you, DO NOT READ IT. Don’t even ATTEMPT to. And that, too, is clearly stated by the author in the front content. She even encourages you to get a refund. That being said. All that warning BEING said…I’ve read worse published by Amazon. So, I personally don’t understand the ban on the book. There are quite a few other books in this same vein on there, yet unlike those books…the hero owns up to his actions and tries to do right. His methods need work, he’s not a sympathetic character, but he’s the most moral and just out of those in his circle. Which is sad. How did I feel about this book? Honestly, I liked it. It was hard. Ms. Sloane sold me on the fact that her hero is a true product of his environment, but he’s the BEST person he knows how to be. He’s completely, irredeemably flawed, but he’s doing the best that he knows how. Ms. Sloane sold me on the fact that her heroine truly was intelligent and she was good, and SHE was able to inspire her hero to be a better man. This is definitely not a book for everyone. This isn’t something I’d openly recommend to people. This isn’t the “If you like blah blah, then read this.” type of book. I would recommend it if someone asked me about this particular type of book, because it’s so well written. Ms. Sloane takes the reader on an emotional journey. She sets the tone early that this will not be pleasant, but by the end, we’re left feeling satisfied with its conclusion. The ending felt RIGHT for the characters, regardless of the beginning. And in most stories, this isn’t something that needs to be said, but all things considered, that’s a feat in this type of story. Most of the time the ending feels contrived and forced, or at the very least unnatural. I know this is a long review, but this is a very difficult book.

    OMG Kudos to Nikki!!!

OMG this book is so good!!! Nikki has delivered a 5 star dark romance. Yes it is romance but so dark...I am a dark fan so I was enthralled from the very first page to the very last!!! Addison a hard working student has never really experienced life meets the wicked hero at a frat party and sparks fly. It is an emotional roller coaster that grabs onto your dark side and gives you that extra that only Nikki can deliver. Luka sucks Addison in and wraps her tight into his web of darkness and takes her heart and soul along for the ride. Addison struggles with her own emotions as she goes further into his world and starts to question her own needs and where she belongs...is it with him here in this world or does she still want to go back ad be plain Addison... Great book from beginning to end and Kudos to Nikki for a job well done!!! I received an ARC in exchange for an HONEST REVIEW for Rockstar Book

    Emotional, erotic, beautiful

Sordid is an amazing emotional mind blowing trip to the dark side. (And I loved every moment of the ride!!) I want to give it all the stars!! Addison is a serious "good girl" student with a bit of a crush on her former math PA. Luka is quiet and mysterious but hides a dark side. “The more you fight, the worse it will get. Just accept I am in control now. I own everything.” He made a production of sweeping his gaze downward. “Your body. Your time. Even your choices. Those are all mine now, Addison.” There were some very dark and taboo elements to this story and at times, yes I did question my sanity for how much I love this beautiful story. Nikki Sloane took me out of my comfort zone with this one but seduced me with her gorgeous words. I'm completely in love with Addison, Luka and Nikki!!! "Luka was bad, and the worst part of me hoped he was going to make me be bad along with him. Naughty, slutty, and wrong. I teetered at the edge, wanting him to push me over"

    HIGHLY recommended dark read!!

Holy hell was this book incredible!? With a dark and twisted storyline, I found myself getting sucked in from the start... a story that you almost don't want to read yet can't turn away. Addison is the "perfect" college student, never parties, always does her best and works hard to ensure her future of becoming a surgeon. When she runs into Luka at her very first frat party, the older guy she has been fantasizing about for years, her entire future ends up in his hands... Now she has no choice left but to survive... and she may forever regret it. This story was hot as hell, pushed some dark lines and I LOVED every minute of it!? HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended dark read!

    5 Dark Stars

I love dark romance. It's my favorite genre and some of my favorite books belong to this genre. Sordid will take readers on a wild ride, that's for sure! Addison is twenty one and studying for a medical degree. What happens when she meets Luka at a frat party? She has seen him before but they never talked. Addison never approached him and he didn't seem to know that she existed. The moment they see each other again, there is an instant pull between them but Addison can tell that there is something dark in Luka. His face is closed off and he wears a mask of concrete all the time. So, what Addison sees...is it the real Luka? Dear God. Their first scenes together are enthralling, dark and unexpected. Addison's crush will quickly go downhill because Luka is certainly not someone you'd like to be with in the darkness of a locked room. One play of seduction goes horribly wrong when Luka pushes too far and ultimately steals everything from Addison. Her attraction is at once diminished but still, something remains. What was supposed to be a night of fun for our reserved heroine, turns into a nightmare. Luka is hot and cold, you never know what he really wants. When Addison relizes that her life is now in his hands, all she can do is fight for survival. Boundaries are pushed and lines get blurred. The book handles themes like date rape and it's full of dubious consent content. The story will give you whiplash, but it's a terrific tale of darkness and fear! Hold on tight, people. Rough ride ahead. Interesting concept and the author delivers with success a story that pushes the lines between right and wrong. Enter the world of a warped relationship that can ruin everything it touches! I simply loved it. I recommend it. 4.5 Stars!
