    Loved it!

LOVED! This! Book! I'm so sad to see this series end but I must say Ms. Meader saved the best for last. Wyatt Fox is a sexy former marine working for the Chicago FD. As a member of the misfit Dempsey clan what else would he do?? He's a man of few words but with looks like that who needs words? While recovering from a recent injury he finds himself as a consultant on the movie set of Molly Cade. A woman he never thought he'd see again after their one night filled with passion. That one night wasn't enough for him so maybe the heavens have put her back in his life for a reason. Will Molly agree? For someone who really doesn't enjoy the limelight could he survive in her world? Could she give up the lights of Hollywood?? You definitely want to read this one and find out. Put this one on the must read list! I highly recommend it.

    Sparking the Fire

I have enjoyed reading this series from Kate. This story is another good read for us. Kate does a good job of developing her characters to get you falling into the story. I will say that this book is a mature read for those under 18. Wyatt is in a family of fosters to save them and they lose Sean, their father and their brother Logan. They are firefighters. Wyatt meets Molly, an actress, producer to make a movie of the family. Her ex, Ryan, tried to ruin her work. Major Spoiler. Toni is 15 and has beat Cancer but never met her true father Logan. Major Spoiler. Please make sure you have lots of tissues beside you. This was a story you can't put down. But on the other hand you have to just walk away for awhile. I liked this story line that started with a different beginning. I hope you will take time to read this book. You won't be sorry if you do. Enjoy this read! I have this book for an honest review for NetGalley.

The series goes out with a bang!

The last story in the Hot in Chicago series gives us the enigmatic and stoic Wyatt, and his one week stand Molly, who is back in his life once again. Their anonymous fling at a hotel five years earlier, just as Wyatt was getting his feet back on the ground after his latest military tour was just what they needed at that time, but they’ve never forgotten each other. Wyatt went on home to join his foster siblings (the Dempseys) and the Chicago Fire Department, while Molly went on to fame and fortune (and a disastrous marriage, now ended). When Molly shows up in Wyatt’s life again as her acting career takes her to Chicago, this time they aren’t going to leave things unsaid. The prologue of the story gives the reader a taste of the sexual combustibility of Wyatt and Molly as we see a glimpse of what brought them together, and then flash forward into the heart of the story, five years later. It’s no wonder they haven’t ever forgotten each other in the ensuing time. Seeing each other again sparks all those feelings, only this time, they won’t be so easily dismissed. Though Molly and Wyatt both try to tell themselves that falling into an affair now is a mistake, they can’t help themselves from taking a forbidden taste…and then another…and then another. I loved seeing the two of them together again, the sexual tension ratcheted up with each encounter and falling head over heels in love despite their best efforts to remain emotionally unattached. Wyatt’s got important reasons for wanting to keep his relationship with Molly, and her involvement with the Dempseys in general, low key. Yet it doesn’t stop him from enjoying having her around his family, who fall for her and her feisty, friendly self just like him. There are some emotional scenes in the story as some family dynamics come into play, as well as lots of laughs especially with Gage, Wyatt’s younger brother, whose irrepressible charm has him stealing several scenes. Molly’s bubbly character is a perfect foil for Wyatt’s stoic façade and it made the whole story just a delight to read. When the film shoot is finished and it’s time for Molly to move on, Wyatt and Molly have to make some key decisions about their future. I loved every bit of this story and series, and will be on the lookout for whatever Kate Meader has up her sleeve next.

    I'm gonna miss this family!

Another fun, drama filled story of the Dempsey family of Engine Co. 6! This is a great family and I've enjoyed their stories so much. Always a sexy hot read, with lots of family depth and humor thrown in! Scandalized Hollywood actress Molly Cade needs her latest film to go off without a hitch to earn back some respect for her tainted career! She wants every aspect of her action flick to be precise, so she is working with the best firehouse around to make it happen. Sexy loner Wyatt Fox needs something to keep him busy while he recovers from his latest hot-headed recovery stunt at the firehouse, so his Lieutenant sets him up to be the expert consultant on the movie set of an upcoming movie. He's trying to get out of it until he realizes it's a Cade Productions film. Molly Cade and he once burned up the sheets in a week long anonymous fling, so he can't pass up the chance to see her again!

    Scorching hot!

Ms. Meader does not disappoint in this installment of her Hot in Chicago series as the oldest and last Dempsey standing succumbs to the call of love. SPARKING THE FIRE has got everything you love in a romance: raw passion, sweet and tender moments, witty and entertaining dialogue and lovable characters, and is just too good to pass on. Right now, I'm torn between excitement at finally reading this book after waiting for so long and sadness that this is it: the end. Two strangers in a bar, several night of passion and forever memories. Five years later they meet again, this time as a famous Hollywood actress and the man standing in the way of her achieving her comeback. Molly Cade is not going to let anyone stop her from getting what she wants, not even the man that has haunted her dreams for so long and Wyatt Fox is just as determined to protect his family, which makes for fun times when the sparks begin to fly! I loved these two so much. The passion between them, their emotional bond, the ways they completed each other, even how they fought, I loved it all. Molly may have been knocked down, but she's definitely not out. She's smart, beautiful and down to earth and fit right in with the Dempseys. Wyatt is a loner by nature and by choice, but Molly was exactly what he needed to bring him out of his shell and forge stronger connections with his siblings and his confession of how she changed the direction of his life five years ago was an 'awww' moment for me. As a bonus, catching up with the rest of the family was so enjoyable. Part of the fun in this book is the way the siblings interact and have each other's backs, but are quick with the tough love when needed. If you haven't read anything by this author, this series is a perfect place to start and TBH, her entire back-list is worth your time. This series as a whole is a must-read, with every book as good as the next and I recommend it for the keeper shelf. I'm sure I speak for many when I wonder if Ms. Meader can, I don't know, scrounge up a lost cousin from somewhere or perhaps a wedding in the family, to give us another chance with these characters.
