    Spider Women's Daughter

I have read most of Tony Hillerman's books and am happy Anne had taken the reins. I'll be waiting for the next book.

A glimpse into the lives of Navajo Tribal cops.

I have read all Tony Hillermans books. I was so glad to discover that Anne Hillerman, his daughter, has followed in his footsteps. She is a more than capable writer. Hopefully she will keep the Leaphorn, Chee and Manuelito series alive with many more contributions.

    The Spiderwoman's Daughter

Anne Hillerman has successfully picked up her father's legacy by continuing the Leaphorn/Chee/Manuelito saga. I first read Blessing Way when I lived in MI, and Mr. Hillerman's prose encouraged me to visit and eventually move to New Mexico. He appeared at the 2002 SW Popular Culture Association as the honored guest and later at the UNM Adult Education lecture series. He offered to read an academic essay I wrote while at Oakland University re: his characters as detectives and how religion played a part. However, I waited too long, and he was too ill. He told me he still had a drawer full of first chapters, encouragement for any writer. Thank you to Anne, her father and mother. I am looking forward to the next installment!

    Spider woman's daughter

This is a book that you can't put down. It takes hold of you from the first words and just captivates you till the finish. The best combination of history, art, mystery and Navaho way.
