  • Breathtaking historical romance...

Katherine Jameson yearns to follow in her father's footsteps and sail a ship. She hates all the trappings of being a lady, including being forced to marry an old man. She learns her father made her part-owner of a ship before he died. She jumps in with both feet, determined to make her dreams a reality. The only problem, the ruggedly handsome captain of the same ship she rightfully owns. His name is Cadell Leighton and he frustrates her to no end. When they're forced to get married, things are about to get stormy and passionate on the rough seas. Can they help each other answer burning questions about that fateful night many years ago? Will they both deny the love shared on the high seas is the greatest love of all? Spirit of the Winds is a breathtaking historical romance on both land and sea. From the first page to the last, I was transported to another time and another place. The descriptive narration is magnificent, historically accurate down to the last detail. I connected with Katherine right away. Her spunk and feistiness clashed with Cadell's expectations, which made for enticing reading. The characters are well-developed with their own voice and personality. The plot moves at a natural pace, allowing for the sub-plots to unfold. The romance starts out combative but evolves into an emotional journey between two people who fall in love. My favorite parts were out at sea. Spirit of the Winds has a swashbuckling vibe, but it's so much more than that. Judy Kentrus is a brilliant romance writer and I look forward to reading more from her. If you love historical romance, you'll want to dive into Spirit of the Winds. If you enjoy adventurous heroines, you'll love Spirit of the Winds. Highly recommend!
