The Color of Heaven will Touch your heart!

I received this book as a ARC, for an honest opinion, on The Color of Heaven. I've read this book three times now and everytime I've read it, I've cried. You are drawn into the life of the main character right from the start. Julianne tells us Sophie's story, about her life as a young bride and mother, she tells us of Sophie's joys and the sorrows that she experienced, you can't help but be drawn in to her life. This book reminds us of how strong we are, how we can overcome hardships to embrace life and past loves, and sometimes, when we think we are at the darkest, lowest points in our lives, we learn how much we mean to the people that we love and that love us back!

    Full of Emotion!

Alaskan Dawn: Even more than a sweet love story, this was a story about growth and becoming your own person. Haley's life seemed to have centered around her sister, and I was so happy to see that she was going to do something for herself. The author did a lovely job of slowly working with Haley's character growth. I don't like it when authors rush through, it feels unrealistic. Haley had real-life trials, bumps, and good times that allowed her to see that she really could live her own life. And Ben.....having Ben in this storyline was like icing on the cake! He was a welcome edition to the storyline. The Color of Heaven: This story touched my heart in so many ways. It was filled with so much emotion right from the start and immediately pulled me into the storyline. I felt connected at some level to each and every character, and found myself reading as fast as I could. In fact, I read it in one sitting. Be advised, there are a lot of heart wrenching scenes, which were written beautifully by the way, but there were also some good moments that made you smile. I can not imagine what it must have been like to write this story. Sophie is a powerful character that will make you feel like you are living the story with her. You will enjoy Sophie's journey, as long as you have a box of tissues nearby! Pulling Home: This story was full of twists and turns and had me on my toes! There was a lot going on, and honestly I did feel a little overwhelmed at times. There were certain parts between Jack and Audra that didn't make sense to me, but then the ending came I completely understood. So if you find yourself reading and a bit confused, just keep going. It'll all come together in the end! I should note there are a few scenes in this story that are sexual in nature and I was not expecting at all. However, if you skip over these sections I do not feel like it takes away from the storyline. Overall it was a good story, and I would like to see more from these characters in the future. I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

    Beautifully Written

While The Color of Heaven by Julianne MacLean is the middle story found in Spring Rain, it is the one I read first. The Color of Heaven is the most beautifully written story I have read in a long time. It is a story of first love, love and marriage, and love lost as well as enduring love. It is a story of great pain and greater joy. The story is told by several of the characters. It is also told by the author using beautifully descriptive words to paint the scenes and feelings so well that one cannot help but love sharing in the tale. I now want to sit down with a stack of Julianne’s books and read and read.

great book- two out of three

the book is a collection of three stories by three different authors. I knew only one of them beforehand- Julianne Maclean. I loved the two first stories. The first one was a good one, set in Alaska. the author descriptions were beautiful and they made me feel as if I'm in Alaska myself. the story itself was flowing and interesting. The second story is a very clean story about love but also about life and how people must deal with it. As someone who is familiar with Julianne Maclean writing, it is one of her best books. The third book was a bit of a let down. I didn't really like the hero and the love story was very weak and felt based on lust and sex mostly.

    Amazing book. Highly recommended.

SPRING RAIN was an amazing and wonderful read. Julianne MacLean always amazes and entertains me with her fabulous creativity in writing. Imagine my joy when I realized that Edie Claire's talented writing could transport me to the scenic wilderness of Alaska. The main characters in all three stories are well developed and realistic and most are very likeable. There are several common threads in these three novels besides romance - coming of age, first loves, babies, sickness, travel, secrets and surprises. Each book has lots of twists and turns. The story lines are very different from each other. I highly recommend this anthology of three novels - ALASKAN DAWN by Edie Claire, THE COLOR OF HEAVEN by Julianne MacLean and PULLING HOME by Mary Campisi. 5***** Special thanks to Julianne MacLean for giving me the opportunity and pleasure to read SPRING RAIN:THREE ROMANTIC WOMEN'S FICTION NOVELS in exchange for an honest review.
