  • Excellent continuation (and restart) to the series

Continuing the sequence this is a 'reboot' or restart. The protagonist is 6T9, the 'evolved' sexbot from the earlier books - who inherits an asteroid from his recently deceased latest owner/employer, provided he cares for her werfle (who is currently inhabited by Carl Sagan/Fluffy, previously encountered). We also have Volka, a weere - wolf/human hybrid who have some resistance to radiation and are used on Luddecea in a rôle not too far removed from slavery. The plot is decidedly complex but a real page-turner and provides a good starting point - though new readers will miss out if they forego the first books. (Noa features as a supporting character, as well as her frail younger brother who remained on Luddecea.) I cannot recommend this too highly.

  • Sixty and Carl's adventures continue

"Starship Waking" takes place ~ 100 years after the events of "Heretic". While Sixty and Carl were supporting characters in the previous 3 novels, they are the protagonists in this novel. I thoroughly enjoyed the greater emphasis on developing these characters. There is just as much action in this story as in the other novels. The set up for a 5th novel was interesting and I look forward to reading the next instalment when it is published.

  • A great continuation of the Archangel Project

An exciting and enjoyable sequel to The Archangel Project and prequel to "Darkness Rising", featuring 6T9, Carl Sagan and a few new characters. I am enjoying this series immensely. This Book takes place about a century after "Heretic" with Carl and The One suffering terrifying visions as the starship Sundancer has nightmares. There is continual tension, frequently broken with some out-of-this-world humor or life-and-death situations, as 6T9 (a sex 'bot - his name is a hint), Carl (one of The One occupying a werfle) and Volka (a GMO) face and overcome almost impossible odds to awaken and rescue the sleeping starship (from a previous galactic civilization). Kanji and Noa Sato also put in brief appearances.
