Nothing beats coming across a great book written by a new to me author. This is one of those times. It's wonderfully written and has a great group of characters. I am hoping this is the beginning of a series because a couple of the secondary characters definitely need their own story. I definitely recommend this book to everyone.

This delightful romance is the story of Anne and Mike. Anne is a divorced mom who has a party planning business and runs a lifestyle blog with three friends. When she meets Mike, a handsome mechanic and uncle to a good friend of her daughter, she can't quite believe he'd be interested in her. She's a little bit older and a little bit curvier than the type of woman she'd expect him to be with. But Mike is persistent in his pursuit of her. It's up to Anne to decide whether to keep things simple or let her heart lead her to love. This was a really fun read. I empathized with Anne's character. She's a friendly likeable woman with all the insecurities that go along with having had a child (and not being model thin) and now being a single parent. Mike's character was equally engaging as an affable, caring man who is a really good guy - one Anne can't help being attracted to despite her idea that he should be with someone younger and thinner than her. Together they share some definite sexual chemistry and it's only a matter of time before this leads to some steamy love scenes. The story is told from both points of view which I always enjoy. As the story progresses Mike comes to the realization that while he finds Anne attractive, he's more interested in establishing something long term with her, not having a short fling. But he isn't pushy and he is willing to give Anne the space she needs to decide whether she can trust him with her heart. Another aspect of the story that I quite enjoyed was Anne's blog and the realities of being present in social media, something most readers can relate to. The story moved along at a good pace and had a warmhearted feel as Mike and Anne learn to navigate their new relationship. There were some secondary characters introduced, friends of Anne and Mike that added some humour to the story and give some hints to future stories in the series. I'm looking forward to what comes next from this author! 4 stars.

Received an ARC for an honest review from St. Martin's Press via Netgalley. Loved this Sweet and Sizzling Romance Mike Everett has been flirty with Katie for awhile and he can't wait for their hot date he has planned for Saturday, when his sister calls and asks him to drop his niece Bailey at a Birthday Party. He can't wait to drop her off and get back home, But that all changes when Anne Edmonds opens the front door. Suddenly he is captivated by Anne and is not in any hurry to leave, and ends up staying for the entire Birthday Party so he could get to know everything about Anne, and he is thoroughly taken by everything he see and hears from her warm inviting home to her fabulous food as well as her creativity that surround him at the party. Anne is a single divorced mother who works as a party planner and writes a blog "My Perfect Little Life" with two of her friends. Anne also thinks that Mike is hot with his muscular arms and shoulder and scruffy rugged good looks. Mike is a confident sexy alpha male who makes a living as a mechanic working on cars and he gets paid handsomely rebuilding old classic cars. He has enjoyed the bachelor life but after that afternoon he can't think of anything or anyone but Anne, he doesn't even want to go on his hot date that his niece Bailey announces to Anne as they are leaving when Anne surprises herself and invites Mike and Bailey for a picnic in the park later that day. But what will that hot date think when she finds out about Anne? Will Mike be able to give up his bachelor ways for a single mom and her daughter? You will just have to read this sweet romantic story. This is the first story that I have read by Nicole Michaels. Loved this sweet and sizzling romance. Can't wait to read more stories by her. I loved this story and all of its witty, flirty clever banter and the steamy sizzling chemistry between these two as well as these great main characters. It was so beautifully written that it was hard to put this story down and it kept me up, into the wee hours even on a work night. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SWEET AND SIZZLING ROMANCE STORY. 5 + STARS.
