    Unique, entertaining, and unexpected

What a great first in series! It was action packed, unexpected, a roller coaster of emotions, and completely captivating. Jwls and Aggie are completely different, but their differences are part of what draws them together. Through danger and heat, the two individuals pull together and show how resilient they are together.

    Perfect amount of snark!

This was a lot of fun, with the perfect amount of snark! A great blending of earth and earthlings, and those from other galaxies, who are, but aren’t, just like us. Steampunk, but not really. Sci-fi, but not really. Alien and alien-keep away authours, oh yes! A little bit of everything, and some sexy tension build-up, before getting down to business 😊

    Steampunk Cyborg by Eve Langlais

Steampunk Cyborg by Eve Langlais Steampunk science fiction romance. First in the Mechanic Origin series. The best part of this story is the real life example start of the Romancing the Capital Reader Conference in Ottawa Canada and the preference of the heroine to just stay in her room and read. I think every reader conference attendee feels this urge. Plus the true to fact hotel setup with daughters helping at the registration table is amusing and adorable. Fortunately science fiction makes this story’s path much more unlikely with a cyborg kidnapping one of the readers. And a few surprises by attending authors! From there, the story becomes standard fare. The science fiction genre for this author seems to be less humor, more cogs. And bumps since I stumbled on several text editing errors in the paperback version. Interchangeable. But still entertaining. Overall enjoyed the romantic growth of the hero and look forward to the next of his crew to succumb to love. 3.5 bumped to 4 because of the Reader conference experience.

Great start to a new series!

I found this book different but none the less very enjoyable. It was full of action and a lot of fun. As usual Eve has hit the nail on the head with her mix of cyborgs (love em) and steampunk!!!! Can't wait for book two..... I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
