    Great Hate/Love story

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This story was so great, I beyond loved it. It is filed with southern love and cattiness, its sweet, funny and romantic. And Lowe, well I was not a fan in the first book but he is sooooooooo terrific in this book I fell very hard for him. Mely/Melinda is portrayed negatively in the first book as a cold, haugty, NYer who buys the Mainer House and will probably flip it for a profit. But that is so not the reality and I loved how she fell in love with Whynot, its people and her house. This was definitely a fun, flirty easy read. There is one misunderstand and some gossip but I laughed so hard at some scenes and I fell hard for every single one in this story except for Lowe's ex. Lowe's family sold their family house to Melinda. Lowe tried to fight the sale but the house has sat empty for years and his family cannot afford it. Lowe holds protests and then paints it neon pink in protest. Which is how he ends up in court. The verdict is he has to work 250 hours for Mely and help with restoring the house. This was a really wonderful hate to love story. These two fight it out until one day Lowe kisses her and then they both fall hard for the other. Both embrace love and fall for the other very sweetly. I loved how Mely's bestie hated Lowe and their practical jokes were a total hoot. This story was beyond wonderful. I truly hated for it to end and I cannot wait for the next story.

    Awesome

Laugh out loud funny and swoon worthy romantic. I love these stories with all the passion they possess but leaving some things to our imaginations. Lowe Mancinkus is definitely passionate! About his family, it's history, and his little hometown of Whynot, NC. Before long he's passionate about the woman he is currently furious with! Melinda Rothschild may be a city girl but she finds something peaceful about this quaint little town in NC. Everything about it pleases her...well except for the intolerable Lowe Mancinkus. Grab a copy of this one and get to know these guys as well as a cast of unforgettable characters in this amazing story. I highly recommend it.

    Love this series!!!

** Received ARC for a fair and honest review ** Stubborn as a mule is Lowe and Melinda's story and the 2nd book in the Sex and Sweet Tea series. You are introduced to Lowe in the first book and at the end of the book you are minutely introduced to Melinda Rothschild, who bought the Mainer House. This could be read as a standalone, but would best be read in order. This series takes place in Whynot, NC a small town with a lot of small town gossip. At the end of book 1 and the beginning of book 2 Lowe is in trouble for damaging the Mainer House in protest for it being sold since it was a major part of their family history. Melinda bought the Mainer House as it has historical significance for her family and she is incensed at Lowe for first damaging the house and then when told to fix it, painting it an obscene color. Things only heat up from there when he is told to fix it in the manor in which the new homeowner decides. Ok, so on to my thoughts and feelings on the b0ok. This book was hard to put down, though it took me a couple days to read since I'm in the middle of a huge home project keeping me from reading. Having nothing to do with the book, if I would have had the time I would have neglected everything else to read it. It is a sappy sweet story, the characters were a hoot, all of them except the town mean girl... I'll let you read to get the full effect of her... I really enjoyed the chemistry between Lowe and Melinda, their story was a fun rollercoaster and when the ride ended, I was not wanting it to end. If you are reading this as a first for Juliette Poe, then know that this isn't going to be a sex riddled story, there is one part that glosses over it at 89% and one other that implies that there was. If you are looking for hot and steamy, this wouldn't be for you, but the story is a lot of fun! The only criticism I have at all is the ending. Though I know you will get minor bits of the characters in the upcoming books, I still wanted more information as to them, I know that's vague but I don't want to spoil it for you. I really wish there would have been an epilogue or just a little bit more.... However, this still does not affect my rating, the book was still awesome! Happy Reading!!!

Sweet & Cute Small Town Romance!

This was a very sweet and cute small town romance! The enemies to lovers and fish out of water tropes were perfect and created some very charming and hilarious moments. Stubborn as a Mule is the 2nd book in the Sex and Sweet Tea series, but can be read as a stand alone. I really enjoyed Lowe and Melinda (Mely's) transformation from sworn enemies to slow burn lovers. I actually wish there had been a little more love/hate build up, but it really was adorable how they each started to realize that they might not dislike each other after all. Lowe is a Southern gentleman through and through, and I found myself falling for him as the ornery property vandal facade gave way to the lovable and charismatic home town boy. The main conflict and resolution, while predictable, wasn't heavy or drawn out and the other woman drama was the perfect amount of angst. Though there is plenty of innuendo and sexual tension between Lowe and Mely, this is more a fade to black/implied sexy times kind of book. The city of Whynot, NC is so wonderfully eclectic and is the perfect back drop to this series. It is home to some amazing secondary characters, especially Pap and Floyd. Mely's best friend, Morri, was also a wonderful addition who brought more humor to the story (loved his prank war with Lowe!) and shed light on social issues facing the world today. I thought the nod to the Wicked Horse in Vegas was genius and I chuckled to myself when I saw it. If you're looking for heartwarming and lighthearted small town romances, you don't want to miss this series! *I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book*

Fun, laugh out loud, sweet romance!

I am just loving these fun, sweet stories from Juliette Poe (Sawyer Bennett). This fun and lively Mancinkus family just keeps on providing such great entertainment! We met Lowe Mancinkus in Trixie's story. Lowe is not happy the family's Mainer House has been sold to some "Yankee" who buys and flips homes and he wants to make life as hard as possible for this woman. Lowe has already boarded up the doors and windows and then sat on her porch with a gun, but now he has painted all the trim work in neon pink! This last act has landed him in front of Judge Winston Edward Bowe again because "the woman", Melinda Rothschild has pressed charges. After Lowe is ordered to fix what he has done, to the agreement of Melinda "Mely", all hell breaks loose. Mely isn't happy to have to deal with Lowe and by the time they leave the courtroom, Lowe has to spend 250 hours doing work on Mely's house! Oh, it is obvious from day 1 that these two are made for each other. They both have that fighting streak in them. I just adored the things these two did to piss each other off. Of course, this ended up such great chemistry! As Lowe and Mely spend more time together, they start to realize that they both jumped to wrong conclusions about the other and they both start developing feelings for each other. I really enjoyed how this story was told through town gossip. It made for some funny scenes. And I just LOVED Morri! He was too funny for words. The pranks that Lowe and Morri played on each other were priceless. Slowly over time, Lowe and Mely started to fall hard. Lowe was such a sweet, southern gentleman and you couldn't help but fall for him. I just adored the way Mely felt about Lowe's family....it was something she really seemed to long for in her life. I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised with what happened with those two and how they go to their happy ending. Never even saw that coming! Overall, this was a wonderful story, with such great characters.
