  • "Such Good Boys" Lacks Depth

Ms Dirman's tale reads like a retelling of old newspaper clippings. The boys are weakly developed so as to arrive at their final judgment, deserved or not. A more thorough relating of their early years would present a more plausible explanation for their characters. There were too many time compressions which left the reader feeling like a juror given only half the story. Jane should have been better rounded to more fully understand the boys' mental aberrations and reactions. Dirman's relating of this sad account seems to be a hurried dash to the verdict which we already knew but what we are missing is an understanding of those lost formative years.

    Thanks for your feedback!
