    Supernatural, super hot, superb

Ronan is a powerful vampire and head of the SEB, after getting reports of a group of hunters trying to capture a Dragon Shifter, thought to be the last known one in existence, Ronan and his team know they have to find and protect this rare supernatural being. Enter Starr, Starr has spent her life in hiding and having to fight for survival because of the teams of hunters sent to capture her so they can use her blood for dark magic. Starr has never felt safe, until Ronan comes into her life. Ronan is drawn to Starr and comes to realise she is his mate, leading to some incredibly sizzling hot scenes. This is a great story full of witches, vampires, wolves and a dragon, I hope as this story continues in the next book we not only get to know Ronan and Starr better but some of the others too. Can't wait

Can a Dragon and a Vampire Find Happiness

A great read. Ronan is ordered by his sire to find the dragon and rescue it and keep it safe. This could be the last living dragon. He brings the girl back to his place and she winds up staying with him. Esther tells Ronan that he and Starr are mates. At first he doesn't believe or want to accept that it is true. A.K. Michaels is a very talented storyteller. As she describes the events and the characters you are drawn into the story. This is a great read. I have read some of her other books and and I feel that she is a very talented storyteller. I highly recommend this book and I am looking forward to reading the next one in the series.

    The dragon and the vampire

A K Micheals is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors. Much as it did not have that much steamy sex in it, it did have a lot of action which I really enjoy.

    I wanna work here!!!!!

I do not give 5 stars easily - I am a tough old cookie. I would easily give this little gem more if I could!!! I've read a fair few of Ava's books now and I think I may love this one the best (SSSSHHHHHH don't let Gabe and Josef from WWV hear that!!!!!) Ronan is the director of the SEB. He joined shortly after its inception and rose quickly. Although now mostly a desk jockey, which he hates, he still likes to get out of the office and kick ass on occasion. He has some moves for a 400 year old plus Vampire!!! He is tasked with searching for and protecting a dragon, long thought extinct, by his sire,Josef. Starr, said dragon, has been on the run for so long, she no longer trusts anyone and is forever on the watch for hunters. When she first encounters Ronan and his team she doesn't smell the stench of black magic on them but that doesn't mean she's going to trust the "bloodsucking leech". Their second encounter sows the seeds of trusts and when they finally meet face to face she feels a natural pull towards him. No spoilers here but I loved the interplay and building relationship between them. There was no real insta-love but the slow burn of attraction. Ronans attitude, macho over a soft gooey centre is so sweet. I love that he swears in Irish Gaelic as it sets him apart from the umpteen other vampires floating around. Starr, is fiercely independent and used to taking care of herself. I don't know why but I hear her in my head with a New York or New Jersey accent, no idea why!!!! The sparks between Fang and Puff are ridiculously hot and I cannot wait to see what happens to them in book 2

Introducing the oh so sexy Cameron Sinclair!

Cameron Sinclair, I didn't like him. There, I said it! (Gasp!) Well, in the beginning anyway. You will be happy to hear my opinion changed during the course of the story, but I was going to make him work for it. Seemingly entitled rich guy (even though he earned it) leaving his friend, Jinx, to get rid of the women on the morning after; women whose names he could care less about. You're thinking now what I was thinking...what a jerk, right? Well, it's a good thing for Cam the story doesn't end there. Cam's father, and Alpha, calls him home. He is getting old and the pack needs a new Alpha. No way in heck is it going to be Cam after the way his father treated him all his life. He absolutely wants nothing to do with it. As we see his interaction with his brother, Gavin, and his mother, we get glimpses that there's more to Cam than meets the eye. His father finally accepts that he will never be Alpha and agrees to let his brother, Gavin, take over. However, Cam must go to America and help with his Uncle Feargus' pack. His cousin Fergie has been injured, and they're pretty sure it wasn't an accident. Much better than being Alpha, so Cam accepts and takes a few trusted men from the pack to help him investigate. Cam's "special" talents are needed to figure out just what is going on. When Cam meets Chastity, well, you can't separate the wolf from the man, no matter how hard you try. There is danger, intrigue, love and romance as Cam and his friends try to figure out what's going on. I love the way Ava weaves in the love stories of secondary characters so that there's never a dull moment. With a solid plot, well-developed characters, wolves, witches and plenty of drama, The Reluctant Alpha starts off the Highland Wolf Clan series leaving you wanting more. Actually with that ending, you're going to need more. Can't wait to see what happens in Book 2. (Gifted an ARC for independent review)
