  • on a par with Feat of Clay! Loved this one!

I was gifted my copy of this book, that I write a review was not required. Book 9 in the series, but they can all be read as stand alones. I've somehow managed to miss reading book 8, Hard Climate. It overlaps a little with this one, so I've had spoilers for that book, but I don't care. I LOVE LOVE this series! Kyle left Vegas and returned to London after he managed to get away from his nasty piece of work of an ex. He's a little wary now, but paramedic Eric makes him feel himself again. But both Kyle and Eric have skeletons in their closets, and its a matter of whether they can both overcome them. I loved this one! Well, I loved most of them but the damaged characters Ms Mac Nicol writes about are the ones who get me the most. Both guys are dealing with PTSD, and they know it. They know at some point they are going to have to open their hearts to someone new, but both are wary of being hurt again. Understandably, when you read WHY each man is so wary. But their feelings creep up on them and I do love it when emotionally damaged characters finally let some one in. Makes me cheer! Ms Mac Nicol's levels of research never cease to amaze me. Research into Eric's work life. Into Kyle's former job, and what happened to him in Vegas. How Kyle was reacting to Eric now. Such high levels of research do not go unnoticed, and I noticed. The screens between the guys are hot and steamy, but also sweet at times, to enable Kyle to get used to Eric. You feel for them, you really do, and in a way only Ms Mac Nicol can deliver that feeling. Certainly sitting way up with Feat of Clay as my stand out favourites of the series. Thank you, for my copy! 5 full and shiny stars

  • Very Enjoyable

Eric and Kyle were wonderfully well-written characters, just as I have come to expect from this author, and I really enjoyed watching the work to make their relationship happen. Another great addition to the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

  • Terrific m/m Romance

I am reading my way through Susan MacNicol’s Men of London series and one of the best things about it is how she keeps things fresh. One of the things that I have seen in other series is that the stories tend to get a bit repetitive as the series gets longer but not with Susan’s. She is a terrific writer who is excellent at pushing boundaries and pulling at your heart strings. I highly recommend this book and this series. • Romance

Kyle last relationship was abusive and he still had nightmares. Eric was in a loving relationship but lost his lover in a mountain climbing accident in Nepal and he has nightmares. They meet through Kyle's boss and are attracted to each other but can they overcome their pasts. I really enjoyed this book.
