    Loved This Novella!!

In Sweet Memories, Book One of the Decadent Events, is the tale of what miscommunication in a marriage can do. Tess is dealing with running her business and with her husband, Jude running away from their marriage without giving a reason why he left when at a anniversary party for his parents, he decided to show back up after three months away. When Jude shows back up, he is hit with shocking news from his parents and a wife that doesn't know if she can trust him again. When the party ends and Tess is finally able to go home, Jude is waiting for her on the porch wanting to give his side of the story. As Jude tells her where he has been and discovering that Tess has divorce papers in her purse, he realizes that there is only one thing to do. When Jude takes Tess out on a coffee date, everything comes out why he left and if he still has a chance to be with Tess. Even though this was a very short read, I really loved it!! It does make you think, what would you do if your husband just up and left without warning and would you take him back? You have to hand it to Steena for writing these fantastic short stories that have you wanting more to the story! Thank You to Steena Holmes for writing this great start to this little series!! This book came from my own personal Library.

Sweet and salt in a great combination

Sweet Memories is a genuinely sweet love story, with the taste of salted chocolate blending emotions perfectly. Family angst and tragedy form the backdrop to a wonderful anniversary party, with the daughter-in-law eagerly making things perfect for others while everything’s torn apart for herself. Tess’s dream marriage is broken, her husband gone and even his parents don’t know why. Torn between wanting him back and giving up on him, Tess is stuck. She has dreams, but can she follow them now, alone? And she has friends, but no-one will ever take Jude’s place. Jude, meanwhile, is coming home to repair his world, only to find even more of it breaking up. Seeing both Jude’s and Tess’s point of view, readers are invited to watch their mis-communication, so achingly real, and hope for improvement. Since Sweet Memories is sweet, of course, the improvement will come. But first there are lovely scenes of love rekindled and hope restored. Communication’s the key, between spouses, and between parents and children too. And salted tears might become joy with chocolate. Disclosure: I enjoy Steena Holmes’ writing so I was pleased to find this free.
