    Drama, romance and second chances

Drama, romance and second chances are all brought together in this sad story. Set within rock culture, the book nevertheless brings out the reality of death, betrayal, and divorce and the effects on family life. Asher is dealing with his own problems and when he meets Dahlia again after many years, he realises that his original feelings for her are very much alive. However, he cannot taint Dahlia and her daughter with the mess that is his life until such time as it has been cleaned up. Dahlia is still dealing with the aftermath of her own life and struggling to put together the pieces. Her daughter is much too mature for her age but she is nevertheless an incredible support to her mother and the caring between mother and daughter has a rare quality to it. This novel is very well written with complex characters and deals with a number of issues facing people in general. We would like to think they are modern-day problems, but in fact, the emotional working out of betrayal and abuse has beset people for centuries. All that changes are the era, names, and places. I found this book engrossing and it left me feeling emotional and sad for the many difficulties people face. However, it is a standalone and ends on a positive and happy note, making me realise that to every problem there is a solution, sometimes very unexpected and unorthodox. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

    honesty

Sweet Solace is a heart gripping emotional stories from both Asher's and Dahlia's points of view. This tear jerking story will grab you from the start and not let go. Alexa has shown how rough life can be for popular musicians and their families.

Sweet solace lives up to it's title

The story was enjoyable nice flow, kept me interested and built the characters so that I cared about them and was invested in their happiness. Always some tragedy and uncertainty for tension but the happy ending I rely on, nothing is perfect it what you make of it.

    Great book!

I am so glad I was able to read this book! Her writing draws you in and keeps you involved throughout the whole of the story. I found myself in love with not only the characters, but also the world she creates. You truly feel as though you are living among the characters. Great character development, steamy sex scenes and enough of the everyday grind to really snare the reader. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
