  • Great addition to series - can't wait for #6

Sweet Talking Rancher by kate Pearce The Millers of Morgan Valley #5 Easy, comfortable, second chance romance that left a good feeling. It was nice to find out what happened between Danny and Faith and watch them rekindle the embers of a love that never truly died. They had moved on but not forgotten the person they once thought their soulmate even though half their lives had been lived since last seeing one another. What I liked: * Going back to Morgan Valley and finding out what was happening * Danny: rancher, son, brother, hard worker, good friend, there for his neighbors, trustworthy, warm, caring, interesting. * Faith: veterinarian, daughter, sister, divorced, focused, professional, caring, there for friends & Family, dedicated to her profession, trust issues. * Dave: Faith’s protective brother, veterinarian, lighter-hearted, in a relationship * Danny’s family: catching up with them and seeing the dynamics. * Catching up with the various people from previous books and thinking about what will happen next in the series and who might find their HEA. * Learning something new – about scours disease in cattle and its impact on animal and human * That it was an easy read that took me away * Wondering about what the couple will end up doing in their future. What I didn’t like: * The way choices the parents of Danny & Faith made in the past * Danny’s father…though he is growing on me, maybe? * Brandon & Callie: the ex-husband and one-time-friend of Faith * The small-mindedness of the community * The dying of the cows Did I enjoy this book? Yes Would I read more in this series? Yes Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington-Zebra for the ARC – this is my honest review. 4-5 Stars

  • Great book

I love Kate Pearce's stories about the Millers and this one did not disappoint. Danny Miller is a nice guy. Everyone likes him. The town knows that his heart was broken when Faith abruptly left town 17 years ago but they don't know the story and Danny has never shared it. So when Faith comes back to town, there is a lot if whispering and talking by everyone but Danny and Faith. 17 years ago, these two had their lives taken over and decisions made for them by their parents that changed everything. They never got the chance to deal with it and their relationship was ended. But now that Faith is back in town can they work through their past and the pain and find true love again? This was a great book. There were some parts that I struggled with because I just couldn't imagine dealing with what happened to them like that and I felt that some questions were left unanswered. But I really liked this book and I can't wait for the next one.

  • Second chances

This is a second chance romance about high school sweethearts that haven’t seen each other in seventeen years, Danny and Faith. What very few people know is the reason Faith left and why she stayed away. Danny isn’t sure what he thinks of Faith returning to work in her father’s veterinarian practice, but he knows he’s glad she’s back, although he’s still hurt. I always enjoy reading about the Miller siblings and this book was no exception. Grab your copy and see if they can finally get a happily ever after without anyone meddling with their lives. I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

  • Faith and Danny get a second chance

After their teenage romance went up in flames, Faith left town without looking back while Danny channeled his hurt and anger into working his family's ranch. Now Faith is back, taking over her father's veterinary practice, and finding out that there's no going forward without first trudging through the emotional debris she left behind. I loved seeing the Miller family again and I love how the author works in the rest of the family history and changes without losing focus on the primary romance. Danny is such a terrific guy, and though it took me a while to warm to Faith, in the end I could really sympathize with the decisions she was facing and the choices she made, regardless of the fallout. If ever a young couple deserved a second chance, it's these two. There's so much love that only their life experiences could help them discover buried deep in their hearts. Their HEA was a perfect joy to read. I love all the Morgan Valley books, especially the Miller family. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

  • This is a great second chance romance!

Friends-to-lovers and second chance stories are two of my favorite romance tropes and this one hits on both of these. Danny and Faith were friends for years when they were young and in high school they became more. Something huge happened (no spoilers here) and they were no longer together. Fast forward 17 years and Faith is returning to Morgan Valley to help run her father’s veterinary practice because he’s retiring. The town has vilified Faith for leaving Danny all those years ago so she isn’t exactly greeted with open arms. Danny was heartbroken when Faith left and never returned but he doesn’t hate her. He makes it a point to let the townspeople know that he bears no ill will toward Faith. Wow, there is a lot going on in this story. It will help you understand things better if you’ve read earlier books in this series as a lot of the main characters from other books play at least a small part in this story. Danny and Faith find out the truth about what happened 17 years ago and it was a real shock to discover the depth of the deception created by both of their families. Faith has become a successful veterinarian but Danny was denied the opportunity to follow his dream of going to college. He still lives at home and works on the family ranch. He and Faith have to find a way to forgive each other for what happened 17 years ago so they can move on. While I didn’t feel the heat between Danny and Faith as much as I have between some of the couples in earlier books, I think some of that might be due to their ages now and what they went through as teens. There is an undeniable attraction between them, it’s just a bit more subtle than in some books. I really wished there was an epilogue for this one because it ended a bit abruptly for me. Still, all-in-all, I enjoyed it very much and hope the series continues on. A review copy was provided by the author and publisher via NetGalley but this did not influence my opinion or rating of the book.
