Fantastic, one of the best dark romances I've read

OMG this series just gets better!!! Pam writes the best dark, anti-hero and often disturbing reads, but they are well worth it if this is your thing - this one like the others in this series will push your limits - it is dark, violent and dirty, a captor/captive read that that will push and pull you along the love to hate line - it is so very wrong but oh so very right. Don't read this as a standalone, ideally the whole series must be read in order to fully appreciate what is going on in here. Kate is back in hell after being captured again. She knows that Tiago Badell, the infamous crime lord, has her. She hates him with a passion, at the same time she is terrified of him and even worse finds him outrageously handsome. But she will not submit to him, she fights him at every turn, she is a spitfire. Tiago has taken Kate as payment for something that was taken from him. She is not what he expected, she fights him at everything he does, and he loves it! As they come to get to know one another a bond develops, she starts to have feelings for the monster, or maybe its just Stockholm syndrome.... This is not a conventional romance, it is very brutal in parts, yet even so there is also some humor in here keeping it balanced. Tiago is the anti hero you will love to hate, he is very badly broken from his past and is the way he is because of this. Yet even so there are soft and swoony moments in here with him, he has some redeeming qualities even though he is bad to the bone. I loved Kate and her strength of character, even after everything she has been through she still had the ability to look beyond that which you could only see on the surface and look deeper at the meaning behind it all. She saw the worth in Tiago hiding behind the monster that he was. A fantastic read, one of the best dark romances I've read, I love this series and can't wait for more!

    Tragic and haunting

Tiago and Kate were tragic, haunting, pained, and complacent. But they were also honest, determined, persistent, and well matched. There story had me going ahh, and ohh, and uh-oh, and uh-huh, and a whole bunch of ick, but in a good way. And just when I thought I had it all figured out, another shocking fact is thrown my way, and another, and I realized I had no idea what was going on, but I sure was enjoying the ride! Tiago is the best anti-hero I’ve read in a long time, a close second to Van, who is also in this series. As the story unfolds, you get to know him, his reasons, his motives, and they are all as dark and twisted as you could imagine. He doesn’t apologize for it, or who he is. What he does is uncover a new him, a different him, when he is around Kate. For her, and unbeknownst to her, he stays the same man, but with different motivations Kate has been a victim her whole life, and that was only solidified when Van took her captive. But she is done cowering, but with Tiago, she finds her backbone, only to wither at times. She doesn’t give up though, she continues to find and hold onto her inner strength. But then she sees, that being strong, doesn’t mean being oblivious. Giving in, doesn’t mean giving up, and being happy doesn’t mean there isn’t pain. She is determined to live on her terms, and stops at nothing to do so This was a dark, forbidden, and twisted journey, with Tiago and Kate as the sole source of light, for each other. It took my breath away in so many ways, and I was right there with our characters in the story

    Take it all

I suppose the easiest thing to do with all these thoughts swirling in my head is to start at the beginning. Once upon a time, Pam Godwin decided to kidnap people and make us fall for their captors. She made it a conflicting kind of love. And so here we are about to embark on book 5 of the Deliver series. I can honestly say I'm surprised and appalled we are here. I thought that 5 was going to be Cole's story...But no. Pam, ever the sadist, is going to make us scratch and itch for it, make us plead and beg. Just before we throw in the towel she will dangle him in our faces. SIGH. It's severely twisted that we, the readers, at this point have been trained to thank her for it! Thank you Pam for a dark world and the twisted love that feeds it. I need to say that the cover of this book is both provocative and deceptively tame. The wildfire and strength in her eyes isn't noticed upon first glance but you are blind to miss it on the second. Take is a special circle of hell. It's everything you didn't realize you wanted out of this book. When we finished Devestate, I foolishly looked for the end of Tiago. I didn't want that man to be the next star in the dark world Pam created. I had no idea I needed him to be next. Take is a new level of dark. It's a new level of twisted. It is everything people tell you to avoid. But worst of all, it's impossible to resist! Take me. Love me. And spit me out. I will line up for more. I'm already anxiously awaiting Martin, Ricky, and HER. Reviewed for Sweet Spot Sisterhood
