    Amazing book..

It written 4 young people, it reads lyk fairy tals; the elegant simplicity of language and story lines don’t hide the complexity of emotions and human interactions contained in the original script. Frequent use of the original language in critical parts gives readers a feel for the Shakespearean stage.

Best summarized versions of Shakespeare's plays!

Tales of Shakespeare basically contains the best summarized versions of Shakespeare's plays such as The Merchant of Venice, The Tempest, and Macbeth etc. Charles Lamb and Mary Lamb took Shakespeare's difficult language and simplified it into a form that is very simple and easy for a younger audience to understand. For example, I read the Merchant of Venice and Macbeth and couldn’t really grasp the story but after reading Tales of Shakespeare, I can truly say I understand the stories. After reading this story I as well now know that my name, Miranda, actually originated from Shakespeare’s play, The Tempest.

    Excellent read…

I'm not vry fond of theater, not even Shakespeare's, but these tales r wonderful! Written in an accessible language, they r a very enjoyable reading 4 children as well as for adults. I reread them many times…

    This is an amazing book

This is an amazing book because Charles and Mary Lamb make Shakespeare obtainable if the language is perceived as difficult to understand. They bring the stories alive! This book created mt love or Shakespeare and gave me an idea of how to approach the original books

It’s one of the best books.

The Lambs' book of Shakespeare (written in 1807) is an excellent intro to Shakespeare as well as a classic in and of itself. I'm enjoying reading them again to myself as well as my family. Highly Recommended…
