  • Both fun and heartwarming

Talk Bookish to Me by Kate Bromely is my new favorite book! I loved this book, it has everything, fun banter, humor, and angst, and all this in a debut novel. Kate Bromely, a romance novelist and bookstagamer, goes to her best friend's pre-wedding party, only to find out one of the groomsmen was her college boyfriend, Ryan Thompson. It’s been ten years since they’ve seen each other after an, especially difficult break-up. This is the type of book I love. Humor, banter, quirky main characters, and a grumpy, ill-behaved bulldog. The main characters, Kate and Ryan are unique, interesting, and very funny together, also, their chemistry together is intense. This is the rare book that can combine humor, comedy in an emotional heartwarming story. The pacing was very good, from the very first page, this is a very difficult book to put down. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone!

  • Comical, refreshing, and delightfully entertaining

Talk Bookish to Me is a heartwarming, witty tale that takes you into the life of the hardworking Kara Sullivan as she juggles her best friend’s wedding, a looming deadline, a mother with high expectations, and an unexpected visit from the one man whom she’s never quite forgotten. The prose is smooth and crisp. The characters, including all the supporting characters, are multilayered, endearing, and amusing. And the plot is a tender, engaging mix of life, love, loss, family, awkward situations, delicious chemistry, romantic drama, tension, introspection, and an adorable bulldog with a penchant for bathrooms, and surprisingly Celine Dion. Overall, Talk Bookish to Me is a charming, smart, uplifting debut by Bromley that I thoroughly enjoyed and is the perfect choice for anyone who loves their romcoms with a lot of heart, hope, humour and heat.

  • Amazing rom-com

Kate Bromley, I am now hopelessly devoted to you. This book has ruined me for all rom-com’s in the foreseeable future. The dialogue was hilarious, the characters were extremely likeable, and the story was unpredictable. I found myself re-reading lines, just so I could enjoy them a second time. Kara and Ryan, your story is a permanent addition to my bookshelf.

  • Better than your average romance

3.5 stars. Rounded down from 4 as I didn't like the plot twist.

  • Cute read

Cute rom-com type book. Exes getting back together with of course some drama. Woven text from the character's book throughout the story.
