    Avoid this book

According to his (her?) biography, R Barri Flowers is a best-selling author. Which begs the question, why on earth did he (she) decide to publish ‘Target of a killer’? It’s a two short story collection and story number one is badly written, with numerous, dreadfully constructed sentences, and virtually no discernible descriptive narrative. Plus: hearsay evidence (that’s when someone says someone else told them something) is inadmissible, so the whole premise of the story is implausible. Thankfully the second story was better. It’s still a bit amateurish, but at least I wasn’t subjected to sentences which had two or three verbs and went on for half a page. My suggestion is, maybe read some of R. Barri Flowers other works.
