    The perfect read!

Let me just start by saying, it doesn’t get any better than this! I absolutely loved Thea, Logan and Charlie! Thea grew up being discarded and unwanted. New York was a place of misery and pain. When a one night stand leaves her pregnant she moves to Montana where the only family she’s ever known lives. It is there she begins to build her confidence back up and raise her child. Logan has bad memories of Montana so he’s not happy about his visit there. However, one visit to the local restaurant/bar in Lark Cove and he can’t believe what he’s seeing. Years ago he had had a one night stand with Thea. Afterwards, life got in the way and he missed the opportunity to make something more with her. Now his whole life has changed between one breath and the next. Oh man I loved both of these characters. Thea, while being secure in her life and finding extreme joy in her daughter, Charlie, still held herself back from making attachments with others. It was going to take more than empty words to break down the walls she had built. Logan was so gun-ho about pulling Thea and Charlie into his life, he just couldn’t stop long enough to see that just because he willed something so, it would actually come true. I did wonder if he’d ever open his eyes to truly see the struggles Thea was experiencing. Let me assure you, it is possible to love a hero and still want to smack him upside the head. The issues this couple faced seemed insurmountable without someone walking away losing a bit of their heart and soul. I hurt for them as they fought against the conflict, accepted it, and had to make hard decisions that would leave them both broken. I wanted to rant and rave because the angst at that point was so gut wrenching! They belonged together and yet life was pulling them apart! It’s no secret this is a secret baby book but this author covered this issue in a manner that neither Thea nor Logan were responsible for the secrecy. They were each pretty much free from guilt which gave this story the ability to be and do more than most books with this trope do. This is such a well written story with a smooth pace, never bogging down and never a place I wanted to skim. The chemistry between these two was fierce and neither could ever deny that. I felt that Charlie’s character was true to that of a six year old and other secondary characters were just as amazing and well developed. There is so much potential for future books here! But for now I’m going to just sit back and relax in the intense joy and satisfaction that I found in this book.

The start of a powerful series!!

This book was the start of my love for Author Devney Perry! Thea felt not worthy of the love the rich and powerful Logan could provide. He was way out of her league...wasn’t he? A night of passion and the daughter that resulted gave Thea something wonderful to focus her life on. She was worthy of her daughters love...and that was enough...until Logan came back into her life. Logan felt cheated by not knowing his daughter but never bought Thea wasn’t in his league. Logan realized what he had been missing all these years and vowed to make his girls the focus of his life. Thea and Logan finding each other again made them both realize that a life with their daughter, and each other, was all that mattered and was worth fighting for. Love, romance, laughter, suspense...this book covers it all. A truly great read and a great beginning to the Lark Cove series.

    Loved every word!

This story was so well written and absolutely perfect. The secret baby theme was handled so beautifully, with no fault to either Thea nor Logan. There was no hard feelings to get over, and that made it so wonderful to read. Both of these characters are strong, kind and thoughtful. Despite his wealth and power, Logan never came across as a jerk. He might have been a little arrogant in the beginning, but it only added to his charm. Thea was so down to earth, and I liked her determination for a better life. These two had instant chemistry from the start, and I loved that it hadn't changed when they reunited. I loved every part of this story, from start to finish, it held me captive.

    A moving love story...

Once upon a time I stumbled upon the words of Devney Perry, but even so, no matter how unexpected it was, I stumbled. With each book written I devoured every one of them. Felt myself slipping until the only thing I had to hold on to was her words. Tattered wielded the same power over me. I didn't simply fall though. I crashed. I collided with the emotions this beautifully penned novel elicited within me! Thea Landry is a self-reliant, strong, and resilient single mom who's had to endure a rough upbringing, yet she's an extraordinary woman and life didn't destroy her, but it did make her who she is. A loving and caring person who knows that though the world isn't always kind, you should still be. Now, we are first introduced to one Logan Kendrick in my favorite Jamison Valley novel, The Clover Chapel and that's when we get our first look at the type of man he is and see that tiny flicker of selflessness in him. Fast forward to this novel and Logan is at first a little self-important, but the further we submerge ourselves we begin to fall for this lawyer's charms. Yes, he grew up wealthy and privileged, but at the same time he's thoughtful, has a heart of gold, and is a person who wants to do some good in the world. Devney has created two characters from completely different worlds who met during a chance encounter. One that resulted in the birth of their daughter, Charlotte. Charlotte, or Charlie her preferred name is a tomboy by nature and any dress, let alone a dress is the last thing she ever wants to put on. But Logan knows nothing about her until another chance encounter brings Thea back into his life. Their connection is instant as these two begin to not only navigate, but rearrange their two separate lives into one. But it's far more than a simple physical attraction. It's emotional, deep, and inescapable. It's three people discovering who they are together and I loved that Devney didn't put the blame of Logan not knowing about Charlie on either of the main characters. In fact, I loved that both Thea and Logan tried to find one another after the initial encounter. Much like the Jamison Valley series and The Birthday List, Devney Perry has once more composed a novel with a vivid, imaginative setting and supporting secondary characters that lay the foundation for her highly anticipated Lark Cove series. Tattered is a moving love story that fills you to the brim with warmth until you feel like you're about to burst, stirs your emotions until all you can do is gush and gush, but most of all it makes you feel like you're standing on the precipe about to nose dive off the deep end!! Gah! This, people, this is romance!! A slow-burning, second chance, sweep you off your feet romance! ***P.S. That Timid sneak peak at the end... Omg!!! Insert all the heart eyes right here! Hear me now, loud and clear this will be my favorite in the series!!

    Tattered

Devney Perry became an automatic one-click for me after reading the second book in her Jamison Valley series. I didn't think that she could get any better than that series, but I have to admit, I think the Lark Cove series very well may surpass it! Logan was introduced in The Clover Chapel as Emmeline's ex-boyfriend. He was a good guy, but things didn't work out for those two. But that worked out well, because prior to him meeting Emmeline, he met Thea. Unfortunately, she left New York before he came back to find her. Luck was on their side when he showed up in Lark Cove, Montana to check something out for his foundation, and he discovered that he had a daughter that he knew nothing about. I so so so loved these two characters. While Logan didn't appear to be a rich, arrogant jerk in The Clover Chapel, I couldn't help but think that he may have that streak in him. And I was so happy that it never came through (although some of his family certainly had that characteristic). And Thea- what a wonderful mother she was. She learned so much about life and how to love unconditionally from her youth. I highly recommend this series! I can't wait for the next book with Jackson and Willa later this summer!!
