    Another Success!

This book is second of a series, but it's own book in itself. It was nice to see characters from the first in it and have the star system for everyone. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

    Not Engaging

The first page had me gagging – think of the Klingon delicacy of Gagh worms on Star Trek… blah, and made even worse because these mealworms appear to be sentient! I was traumatized and had a hard time finishing even the first chapter of the book. The main character, Pandora Stewart, is stolen from her home. The creature who eventually purchased her, Damir, is her only hope of escape, but he won’t let her go. She realizes that even if she did manage to escape, there was no obvious way to get back to Earth. Will she find someone to help her? Will she get home? Or is there something else in store for her future? This is the third book I have read by this author. I must admit, despite my love of sci-fi alien stories, I did not particularly enjoy this one either. It was overly violent and very demeaning to females. Although Damir wasn’t as awful as the rest of the alien characters seemed to be, I didn’t like him. I didn’t finish reading due to my discomfort with the book.
