  • "lyrical prose and intimate observations"

Where this novel stands apart is the lyrical prose and intimate observations of lesser-known San Francisco neighborhoods.

  • Must Read!

Great read - this book is fast-paced and very well written. The ending is not necessarily a resolution, but rather keeps you wanting more in a series. John Nardizzi gives incredible descriptions of both Boston and San Francisco… his knowledge of both areas is clear. The author is very talented and knows exactly when to come in with detailed and extensive descriptions, and when to let the plot take its own path. Would absolutely recommend!

  • Compelling crime fiction in San Francisco

I read a paperback and found the writing style compelling, beyond what most genre crime fiction. PI Ray Infantino is an intriguing (somewhat dark) character who pursues a missing girl lost somewhere in San Francisco. Tension is tight right till the end. Loved the dialogue of the PI and the gangs and his relationship with Tania, the missing girl. Worth adding to your spree of summer reads.

  • Couldn’t put this book down, a must-read

Gritty and descriptive, this well-told story keeps you hanging on until the end…and then some. Nardizzi puts you directly in front of the action from page one, and combines a twisted sense of humor with riveting plot and vivid characterization. A pro in his field and in his prose, the author knows just how to draw his audience in without giving too much away. Shocking ending that makes me want to read more, I simply could not put this book down. Would highly recommend this compelling novel to any crime fiction fan!
