    Page Turner mystery

I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this book, even the gruesome murder, though it was tough to read about. Ava Logan is 35, the owner and publisher of the only newspaper in Jackson Creek NC. 'After 10 years of raising her children alone, as the widow of a slain police officer, Ava is still not free to move on with her life and add a man to it full -time. Cole is now 15, Emma is 12 and are well adjusted kids thanks to strong ties to Rev Dorthea Andrews and Sheriff Grayson Ridge. When Ava finds her friend Trish brutally murdered, Ava fights to be a foster mother to 2 yr old Ivy while trying to find who fathered Ivy and why someone would want to harm Trish. The twists and turns in the investigation and in the hectic life of Ava Logan kept me turning pages well into the night. Ava is a character of great depth who has overcome deep childhood and adulthood hurt in order to give her children a strong foundation. This is one series I look forward to following! I received a copy of this book from Henery Press through Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.
