Here be dragons. 5 FIERY STARS

Dragon shifters meant…dragon shifters. SNIFF SNIFF AWWW!! HOLY DRAGONS BATMAN!!! Now this, THIS is a FANGTASTIC dragon story!! I was held spellbound, captivated by it all!! I have read thousands of paranormal books in my time, with a small percentage being dragon books, but I have NEVER read one like this!!! This is so magical, heartbreaking, beautiful, nasty, funny...just to give you a hint at what you will find in these pages. HA! I ABSO-FANG-LUTELY LOVE the humor in this! So much dry wit, upper crust type of humor from Matthew, sarcasm - all my kind of humor!! Good thing I was reading this on the comfort of my couch because I snorted, snickered and outright burst out with laughter often! I LOVE how unique & magical this story is! I love the dragon lore and how creative Erin is, being able to make not only these dragons her own, but everything to do with them as well! I want to admit a few things about stuff & people, to share some of the most wondrous lines that I love to quote in my reviews, to explain more about my love for this book, but I CAN'T!! I don't want to ruin the magic of that first time for you!! *naughty grin* I will say that for a novella of just over a hundred pages, with lots of stuff going on at all times, this book is loaded with awesomeness that I read from start to finish with no stopping for anything! It never was confusing, or overwhelming with its pace and wealth of story and even though I prefer my full length novels, this left me just as satisfied! Suffice it to say that Erin is a Master Storyteller with a fantastical gift that I can't get enough of!! I can't wait to read all of her books, over & over again for many years to come!

Tempted by Fire by Erin Kellison

Title : Tempted by Fire.. Dragon's Of Bloodfire Book 1 Author : Erin Kellison Reviewed by : Stephanie Jordan ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ Wow this book had me by seat of my pants. Ms. Kellison had me wondering as he had threatened, that he was going to eat her? The red hot rage he felt and his skin was on fire. He felt he burst in flames. Yes , Thane Ryce Ealdian was a six hundred years old Black Dragon, who had gotten his way no matter what or he ate you was very unpredictable. Thane did as he pleased because he needed no one. Emerson Clark was a Bloodkin, who was to be a mediator for two dragon families. Hah!! Dragon's yeah right they were dragons, Emerson had never seen a dragon and didn't believe they were either. But a job she had to do and she would do it for these crazy people who were fighting over the Bloodkin remains at the Kingman Hills. I was gifted this ARC for an honest and truthful review

This is the LOVE we all want

I received this in exchange for an honest review. Thane is a Dragon nearing the end of his life, when the bones of his wife & son are discovered on enemy land. He must under go mediation to claim the bones. Emerson is a very young dragon(?) or so she has been told as a child. She is all set to mediate this dispute but it anything but easy. Both she and Thane are in danger and must join forces to survive. I found this book so compelling that I forgot to eat dinner & go to bed. Thane almost leaps off the page he feels so real. I found myself feeling like I was falling in love instead of the characters. YOU MUST READ THIS!!!

    Interesting

3 1/2 STARS Tempted By Fire by Erin Kellison. It gives us the story of Agent Malcom Rook and Jordan Lane. Agent Malcom Rook is assigned the task of going to dream parties where people gather to meet and find each other in their dreams. He goes to these parties looking for gifted people called Talents with the ability to manipulate or master other peoples dreams rather than just participate in their dreams as more of a watcher. Jordan goes with her sister to one of these parties having no idea of how very talented she is in a dream. However Rook realizes she is a talent and pursues her. I enjoyed the world Ms. Kellison has built. It was unique and intriguing. The characters are strong and mostly well written. Though I have to say that I didn't like Rook. I found him to be a little lacking and a bit one dimensional. The rest of the characters are much more likeable and complex. It's because of my not liking Rook that I am giving the book 3 1/2 Stars. The main characters have to be written in a way that you connect with them or care rather. That's important in a story. At least to me anyway. If I don't care about the character I tend to not care about what happens with them. And that leads to not reading the book. That being said, as I stated I did like the rest of the characters and the over all story enough that I want to read the next book. “Copy gifted in exchange for an honest review” L.

If you love dragons, intrigue, & action...

It captured me from the first pages. Emerson does not believe that she has dragon blood and since becoming involved with the Bloodkin – a dragon society – she is definitely convinced she doesn’t and wants nothing more to do with them. She doesn’t even believe there are dragons much less her being one. When she is asked to mediate a dispute over the remains of a woman and baby, she begrudgingly goes but fully intends to quit and disappear as soon as it’s over. Things don’t go quite as planned, especially after she meets the reclusive and rather grumpy, Thane Ealdian. Even more shocking for Emerson is to discover that dragons do exist and then things get very interesting…very. Thane is ready to accept his dragon and travel to Havyn, the isle where old dragons go to fly free, flame, and fall to ash but when the remains of his wife and son are recovered he must first discover who killed them. To complicate matters, he is unusually drawn to the beautiful young woman who has been sent by the Bloodkin Triad to act as mediator. His dragon seems to desire her dragon and so perhaps, it’s not quite time to let his dragon fly free. Wow, and double wow! I loved everything about this book…the characters, the story line, the action – even when a bit gory – the premise of dragons living among us with their hoards and magic life-extending blood. Thane is grumpy, introverted, and possessive but actually a complete romantic. Emerson is everything strong and modern in a woman but her dragon knows what she wants, and I’m with her. Erin has conjured a modern world, which we all recognize but has layered within it, a mysterious and magical paranormal realm that fits like a glove. I can’t wait to read the next one, AWAKENED BY FIRE, which I’ve already bought. I want so much to read it next but it’s going to have to wait just a bit longer. In the meantime, I highly recommend TEMPTED BY FIRE, the first book in this extraordinary Dragons of Bloodfire series by Erin Kellison – even if you’re not a fan of paranormal, it’s everything exciting – castles and fast cars, and intrigue driven by amazing characters and buried secrets. ***purchased for my own personal reading but sharing my honest and unscripted review.
