    Waited so long

Tank's story has been a long time coming. In his first appearances in this series he was a little frightening, especially when you saw how other characters reacted to him, but glimpses of his back story as the series developed showed him to be an outsider through no fault of his own and a hero even if he never thought so. Chrissy is the perfect foil for Tank and, despite her reservations, she really is the one to save him from a lifetime of loneliness. Her children are joys too - Becky's shyness around Tank slowly thawing and Thad's very evident delight in sharing a first name on display every time Big Theo and Little Theo are together. Jake and Laura's story is that of a mature love that got a little bent aroud the edges but nothing a podunk little town can't fix. And you've just got to love the people of Sweetgrass for the way they and the people on their periphery pull together. Tank's story has been well wort the wait.

    Texas strong

I just keep repeating myself with these books, they are so delightful with the meeting of the old families and the blending of the new. Anyone wanting a good lighthearted romantic sexy read could not do better than read Jean Brashear,s books, a real feel good book.

    Texas Tough

I loved reading about Tank. He survived vicious beatings from his father in order to protect his mother and younger sister. The wounds he suffered leave him a broken, fearful man until his doom came to town. A young woman with two children, looking for a new start, causes him to doubt himself.
