  • Texas Two Step by Cynthia D'Alba

Texas Two Step by Cynthia D’Alba Secret baby. Hot and steamy reconciliation. First in the Texas Montgomery Mavericks series. I don’t like when characters lie to each other or themselves even if it’s to protect from being hurt. Or if they take gossip or vindictive exes as gospel. Talk to each other! In the end they worked through the anger and emotions after plenty of time together to benefit the family. But it was lots of ups and downs in this book. The saving piece was little Adam. His stomping boots and mimicking habits were adorable.

  • A second-chances romance

A second-chances romance that tugs at the heartstrings, Texas Two Step alternatively made me smile and then made me sad for the mistakes made by two stubborn people. Mitch set Olivia loose six years previously when he stepped up to the plate on his brother's behalf. Heart-broken, Olivia dug deep inside and made a determined new start on her life. However, meeting up again at a wedding where they both play a leading role, made both Mitch and Olivia realise that the attraction that drew them together in the first place, is still very much alive and it just needs one kiss to fan the flames to scorching heat once more. This book is very well written and draws the reader into the feelings and desperation of the main characters, making one feel part of the decisions being made. Although this book is part of a series it is nevertheless a standalone and comes to a happy conclusion.
