  • So Good!!!

A slow-burn romantic suspense featuring a ranch, horses, cowboys, and an interesting twist at the end? Yes please!! I enjoyed this fast-paced story so much. I didn't wanna put it down (yeah, no chores got done until I finished this book). I enjoyed meeting Dillon and Cal and reading as they not only worked to discover who was sabotaging her ranch, but also as they discovered their feelings for each other. The slow-burn really starts to ramp up then. I gasped at the unexpected bad guy at the end. Highly recommend Many thanks to St Martin's Press and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation.

  • Romantic Suspense

That Cowboy of Mine by Donna Grant Dillon isn’t sure who to trust. Her neighbor wants her ranch, her newly purchased stallion has been stolen, and someone is trying to kill her. Inheriting her Aunt Dolly’s ranch was supposed to be a blessing but…will it be her safe haven or the death of her? What I liked: * Cal Bennett: bull rider, cowboy, currently unemployed, fell quickly for Dillon when he first saw her. * Dillon Young: not an easy woman to warm up to though she has potential if she can decide who she is able to trust. * The ranch and cowboy aspects of the story * Chet Thompson: TRSCRA Ranger, widow, older, good man * Being able to hate the bad guys * That the story was easy to read – and read a bit like a soap opera at times…or perhaps one of those cartoons with the villain like Snidely Whiplash. * The writing flowed * it was an okay story with the caveat that I have enjoyed other books by this author more…especially her paranormal books/series. I Knowing that there will be more books to read by this author in the future What I didn’t like: * The villains and the evil they perpetrated Did I enjoy this book? Yes Would I read more by this author? Yes Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC – This is my honest review. 3-4 Stars

  • A well-crafted blend of romance, suspense & drama

I enjoyed this book. A well-crafted blend of romance, suspense, drama and action easily keeps you entertained. The attraction and chemistry between Dillon and Cal is obvious and potent and I really liked them as a couple. Add in a few solid twists and you have yourself a great way to relax and get your read on. I am posting an unbiased, unsolicited review.

  • Invested from the start!

That Cowboy of Mine was the perfect romantic suspense story that I didn't know I was looking for. This story certainly kept me on the edge of my seat from very early on! When Cal Bennett woke up to the sound of a shotgun being cocked and it being pointed at him, he knew he wasn't in a good place. The problem was he didn't remember how he got to the ranch he now found himself waking up on with the ranch owner staring down at him. Dillon Young is the ranch owner who found Cal hungover on her land and she's a bit out of sorts because strange and mysterious things have been happening on the ranch. She has a feeling it's likely her neighbor, Hank, who wants nothing more than to get his hands on her land. When Dillion tells Cal what is going on, she's not sure if she trusts him or if he's in on the odd things happening. They enter into a tentative truce as he helps her try to figure out what is going on and things take another turn when someone makes an attempt on Dillion's life. Is Cal as innocent as he says he is or does he just not remember? Will the feelings that start to develop between Cal and Dillion last or will the stress of the situation end things before they start? I was invested in this one from the start. I wanted to know what happened and it was well written and it unfolded at a good pace keeping the reader interested and invested in what the outcome would be. I enjoyed this one for sure!

  • Action, Suspense & Heat

Cal and Dillon’s enjoyable and thrilling story in That Cowboy of Mine by Donna Grant takes you on a great ride filled with action, suspense, power, greed, betrayal, vengeance, and a bit of romance. Dillon inherited her aunt’s ranch and is determined to keep it running despite the numerous obstacles she keeps running into. Her biggest obstacle, besides all the monetary offers, is that someone is trying to kill her for her land. Cal, a rodeo bull rider, shows up on her ranch and has no idea how he got there. Dillon does not trust easily, and despite her concerns about trusting Cal, she agrees to accept his help. Pairing up, they become a formidable team, working together to uncover who is out to kill her and determine why they want her land at any cost; before Dillon is murdered. Ms. Grant wrote a wonderful, passionate, suspenseful and emotional story that is truly not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sizzling chemistry, scary situations, intense conversations, and strong characters, giving Dillon and Cal a chance to avoid death and enjoy a forever love. I highly recommend That Cowboy of Mine to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
