A good set-up with fun dialogue

That Turtle Story is a cute holiday short story which takes place in a unique locale. I enjoyed the Key West setting and the turtle rescue aspects that drew Nor and Eugene together. As I’m always up for opposites attracting, I was excited about these two getting together. Overall, this ended up a bit of a mixed bag. The dialogue throughout That Turtle Story was certainly fun and light-hearted, making this one that’s sure to bring a smile to your face. Unfortunately, I was a little on the fence with the couple. I liked them together, thought they had decent chemistry and some smoking physical scenes, and yet it felt lacking. Then the dreaded fall back of the miscommunication leading to a “break-up” happened. Regardless of how it plays out, this point of conflict always dulls my enjoyment and here it ended up making me more frustrated than charmed with Nor’s self-doubt. While this wasn’t a favorite of mine, I think plenty of readers will enjoy this addition to the advent stories. *Reviewed for Alpha Book Club*
