Fun, lots of laugh and colorful characters

This was my first book by Emma Hart and I had a good time with it. It was chock full of fun banter and had some very colorful characters, but I did feel that it was missing a bit of the emotion underneath all the laughs to keep me fully engaged. There was no shortage of laughter that Lauren and Mason could bring. From their text messages to their verbal sparring matches, these two had me laughing out loud and looking forward to their next exchange. You could definitely feel the chemistry between these two, but as much as I loved both Mason and Lauren, I had a hard time connecting with Lauren’s character emotionally. Mason was easy – he quickly realizes that he may be in deeper than he anticipated with his fake girlfriend, and I think getting to know his story and meet his ex made it easy to understand where he was coming from. With Lauren, it’s not until the very end we get to fully see underneath the snark and sass, and I wish there were more glimpses of that earlier and more often in the story. I did enjoy the other characters in the book. Lauren’s sister and BFFs were a hoot and I loved Mason’s best friend Trevor. Mason’s family was quite….unique….and I can only imagine spending a family get-together with them! Overall, this was a fun read that was well written. It read quickly, wasn’t too angsty, and has me looking forward to reading more from the author.

    Sarcastic as ever

so here's the thing; this book was absolutely amazing but then it went into too much sarcasm (somewhere between 50%-75%)untik it picked back up. I really liked MC's. Their relationships started a bit unorthodox but they managed to find a common ground and from their they discovered that there is something real between them. The slow burn was interesting and it was funny (most of the time). I did liked how the book ended without much drama involved. I liked his Co-Co family; talk about CRAZY . As usual for Emma Hart, the book is full of sarcastic banter, crazy side characters and a couple that was made for each other. I'm giving this a -4* because like said some parts were a bit too much for me🙃 ***Review copy received by the author for an honest review***

    ***5 ‘Hard Work’ Stars***

***5 ‘Hard Work’ Stars*** I snort/laughed my way through the majority of this book. I tried not too, but I did. These characters, ALL of them, from Mason & Lauren down to Cara & Henry were so unique that I was all kinds of happy to just sit back and take all of the crazy in and was quite sad when I had to say goodbye. I adored Mason and Lauren. ADORED. Mason is a really good man. Laid back (because he has no choice considering his family) charming (again, because of his family) and is simply comfortable in his own skin. Lauren is a force to be reckoned with. This woman owns everything that she is: the good, the bad, the loving, the snarky and the lack of edit button. She is definitely someone I’d want to be BFF’s with. As for their journey to their HEA, it was a lot of fun. Low, very low, on drama and angst and high of humor and heart, from the moment Mason and Lauren met it was obvious they were perfect for each other. They simply flowed so well together it was fun to sit back and watch as they fought against their growing attraction and feelings for each other and failed magnificently at it. The Accidental Girlfriend is firmly situated next to Four Day Fling as a top fav. This baby hit all my romcom buttons and then some. The characters in this one were all well written and just so much fun that I can’t even pick a favorite, that’s how much I loved and enjoyed them all. And I’m crossing my toes that we’ll see some of them again because there are a few that definitely deserve HEA’s of their own! ~ Copy provided by the author & voluntarily reviewed ~

    The absolute best rom com!

This was the most fun story that was easy to read and witty, with characters that make you smile! Unconventional way to meet fake dates definitely, what happens when feelings come into play, or do they? I really loved the way both Mason and Lauren were! They are characters you would want as friends, caring but also a hoot and who doesn’t want friends like that! There is also Mason's family, they are brilliant and so entertaining and their antics, oh boy, hilarious!!! Dont get me started on Lauren's cat either, too flipping funny! This is the absolute best romantic comedy that would make a fantastic movie. Get your 1 click finger ready!!!!

    a fun read

I don’t know what it is about this author and where she comes up with her one-liners, but she always leaves me in stitches. She is my go-to author when I find myself in need of a pick me up, a good laugh, or something light-hearted. The Accidental Girlfriend fits that bill. After being ribbed by her friends during a girls’ night for being single, Lauren posts a humorous ad on Craigslist offering up her services as a fake date. Unbeknownst to her, this little drunken escapade will lead her on the unlikely path to love when Mason’s meddling sister responds to her ad. Told from a dual POV, I loved seeing the witty banter between the two of them. The text messages were hysterical and even Lauren’s cat had me cracking up. Lauren is a confident heroine who has no filter. I loved her snark and sass and she is the type of friends that I would love to have in my corner. Mason was sweet and I like how loyal/dedicated he was to his oddball family. True to this author’s writing, the secondary characters really make the book. Lauren’s friends and her sister were entertaining and I loved Mason’s batty neighbor. Like some of the previous books, Mason has a quirky, oddball family where the elderly aunts and uncles misbehave in outrageous ways. I found some of their antics to be a bit over the top (something that I come to expect in this author’s books), but I was also snorting coffee through my noise because well, you just have to read the book. The Accidental Girlfriend is a fake relationship romance with a fun cast of characters and many laugh out loud moments that are sure to keep you entertained until the very end. I received The Accidental Girlfriend for free and I am definitely looking forward to more works by this author.
