    the assassins serie

it could have been a good serie but finally i found it long , redundant and predictable in the plots. each book plot is quite a copy of the previous one. the females characters in all those books are quite "hair pulling" complicated ...as much as it does not sound real . so , no i did not like it. sorry

    Not frozen but better

The Assassins are an amazing team and the five players featured in this anthology have the most wonderful futures because of the women who come into their lives. I have laughed at different parts and I have cried at different parts. Ms Aleo is a great storyteller and world builder and her stories are full of emotion and angst and special relationships that build and develop into something really strong. I especially like the way we see Elli and Shea's relationship grow despite her awful female relatives and that, through the other books in this anthology and the bonus short story, we continue to see their relationship go from strength to strength. Actually putting their names down just now I finally got why they gave their first child her name! A personal favourite is Audrey and Tate's story - they have to work through so much anguish and loss to get to their happy ending. Through all these stories we see a real community based around the sport they love and the love they have for each other. Although I live in Australia and ice hockey has no meaning for me, these stories demonstrate the universiality (is that a word?) of good characters and strong writing.
