  • Think you know Marni Man's writing? Think again!

I love Marni Mann’s writing, she’s one of my favorite authors and spins an awesome tale. But, this book took me completely by surprise, I ran a gamut of emotions while reading it. She took my expectations and just ripped them apart. This story started out simply enough but by half way through, it was clear the lines were being blurred, it made me uncomfortable. It made me wonder… is this what I want to read? I can’t tell you anything more than that, because I agree with everyone else. You need to go into this book with an open mind. You have to live it, experience it. Feel it. That’s all I can say without spoilers. And that’s all you can do too. Read this book and make up your own mind.

  • The Assistant

This book was so beautiful. Had read reviews that it was not what you thought and I did not think it was going to end as it did. So good. Was crying. Read in 3 hours. Could not put it down. Wish there was a sequel. Loved and will recommend. Can not say enough about this book. Waiting for new book by Marni Mann. Love how she writes. Had me from the beginning.

  • Not what you think...

I have no words of how amazing the book was. It had alot of angst, forbidden love, and enemies to lovers trope which this is my favorite genre oh did I mention age gap??!!! Leo and Troian are just two strings characters in this story and they both struggle with stuff that has happened to them. Troy is pretty much cold hearted and wants to be left alone and pretty much hates everyone until Professor Léo walks in the room then her life changes that's all I'm going to say without spoiling. Léo is the angry brooding alpha that wow he had his past and that's why he is angry but once he sets his eyes on Troy he even gets angrier hehe for different reasons! This was one heck of an ride I loved every word and the story was just amazing!!! Yall need to read this book because it is 🔥🔥 because those scenes of steam like WOW!!!! Anyway amazing job this author do she never disappoints!!!!!

  • 5 twisty stars of awesomeness!

This story will suck you in and twist you around spitting you out in another universe. Literally! You will start this story in a haze, go through the emotional roller coaster it is and leave with a dazed look on your face. I had more questions at the end than in the beginning, and believe me, you'll have so many questions reading the story. Jesse and Emery's relationship is rock solid and wonderful. Being best friends since college and still completely in love is what we all strive for in a marriage. In walks Charlotte, but what role does she play? Don't get me wrong, there is still plenty of tension and hot times, even with this married couple! Let me just say the entire story isnt what you think when you pick up the book and it's that much more to walk into blind. This is another show of wickedly awesome story telling. Go in blind and you won't be disappointed. Told in multiple points of view and tenses, past and present 1st and 3rd person perspective. It's all meant to be that way and it all works great. Another must read for 2019 for sure.

  • totally mind-blown

If you're looking for a story that will blow your mind, that will take you by complete surprise, then look no further than Marni Mann's latest release, The Assistant. Marni Mann is one of those authors I can pick up and read any time, any day. She has always delivered well-written stories about a variety of topics, but The Assistant puts her at the top of the genre. I was totally mind-blown and I don't say that loosely. I felt as though I was walking on eggshells while I was reading, like I was watching a Lifetime movie. I thought one thing, then Marni took me down another path and I was questioning myself and my beliefs. Marni did some pretty darn good plotting for The Assistant and that alone should tell you what a brilliant author she is. If you've never read her before, this is the perfect story for you to start with. The Assistant is what great stories are all about! Read carefully though because every single word is important to the outcome of this story. Brilliant!!
