    A sweet autumn read

A heart-warming collection of three short stories taking place around Halloween in Moonbright, Maine. In each story, the couples are given the special Italian cookies from the Bellaluna’s bakeshop which creates a cupid-like spell on the unsuspecting consumers. The book also includes recipes for many of the treats highlighted in the book. I found the book to be extremely charming and full of romance - each of the couples becomes engaged shortly after the cookies do their magic. The first two stories emphasized the importance of family to each of the couples, while the third story included a charming older lady with a special romantic history of her own. I loved the Halloween theme of the book and the way the community of Moonbright gets into this holiday. This is the perfect October read, when the pumpkins and apples are harvested and there is a bit of nip in the air - especially if you’re in the mood for a bit of romance. Thank you to Netgalley and Kensington Books for the ARC of this book in exchange for the honest review provided here.

A great book for a Halloween lover

I received a free copy for an honest review At first I was in this for ONLY Donna Kauffman's story, BUT I took the time to read the other 2 and loved them too! This book would make the perfect gift for the person who loves Halloween, Fall, and/or happy endings. Each story is unique. It's charecters are well developed and the stories flow as if you are right there in Maine. I hope there will be more to come! I may just reread this book when the weather gets cooler, closer to Halloween. Thanks to all 3 authors for their wonderfully creative gifts in this book!

    Halloween is for Lovers

A warm, feel-good collection of three stories centered around a small Maine town with a Halloween obsession and a bakery whose cookies just might be a little bit of a love charm. As the holiday approaches and the town goes crazy with it's extravagant plans for parties and the big parade, three local women find happiness and love amidst the pumpkins and parade floats and haunted houses. You won't find any Halloween horrors in this collection that's as sweet and wholesome as the cookies and pastries at Bellaluna's Bakeshop (conveniently located at the corner of Pumpkin and Spice) but I couldn't resist the healthy helping of romance, liberally seasoned with humor and a sprinkle of sexy heat that the three authors serve up in this wonderful, heart-warming collection. Kauffman, Charles and Angell expertly capture the heart of a small town and the crisp bite of a fall morning and a crisp apple fresh from the tree, so whether you're counting the days till your own Halloween hijinks or you're heading into the warm breezes of a spring day when October is just a memory, if you love romance with a little heat and a touch of magic, this book is a don't miss experience.

    A great read for fall!

The three novellas in this book are centered around fall and Halloween. I read Sweet Magic by Donna Kauffman. Sweet Magic was a sweet, charming story with a little bit of magic thrown in...if you believe. The characters of Bree and Caleb fall in love at first sight. They don't think they can possibly have a future, because Caleb is leaving again. Will there be enough magic in their love to make it all work out? Such a delicious love story. Kauffman never disappoints! If Sweet Magic is any indication of what the other novellas are like, I can't wait to read them! I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

Magic, Love, and a little Halloween

This book contains 3 different books. Sweet Magic by Donna Kauffman Abriana "Bree" Bellaluna O'Neill comes from a long line of Bellaluna woman who have a certain magical way about them through the family bakery Bellaluna's Bakeshop in Moonbright, Maine. Since Bree's parents spend most of their time on the road traveling now, she tends to spend all of her time with her grandma Sofia. Now that Bree is closing in on thirty, she longs to find her own magic and thus is trying to make the perfect Italian cookie. One day when a tall, dark haired, Greek God walks into the shop Bree is captivated. She offers him an Italian cookie and the magic begins. It seems Caleb Dimitriou is in town to run his uncle's restaurant while George Castellanos is out of town with his wife on a long vacation. It also seems that Caleb is instantly drawn to Bree. Neither of these two can explain the strong connection they feel towards each other but they both feel like they need to be with other. As Caleb starts to realize that there is something wrong going on with his uncle's restaurant, Bree is around to offer help and the two grow very close. When certain secrets come to life, Bree and Caleb must work together to figure out a solution. It will take the help of family and a little magic for Bree and Caleb to find their happy ending but in the end they get their perfect story!
