I loved the book! It made me laugh, cry and get mad at the characters! The story pulled me in and kept me inside! A must read!

    Couldn’t put it down!

Kelly Siskind has a way of drawing you in right from the beginning. This is a great book for escaping away and completely being immersed in the story of forbidden romance, healing and love. Highly recommend this book!

    Cute with plenty of heart!

4 stars — This book had a lot of super cute moments mixed with plenty of heart and emotion. I had mixed feelings about our hero, but all in all it was a super satisfying romance. I loved a LOT of things about Weston — from his genuinely good heart, his ability to listen and change, and his sweet thoughtfulness. But I had a hard time with Weston’s controlling ways. It’s not that I didn’t understand where they came from, but it was also just part of his nature to be dominating almost. Which is totally fine (as long as it’s not abusive), but it’s just not a trait I look for in a book boyfriend. We did get to see him tone that down a bit, and Annie knocked him down a peg or two on more than one occasion, but I think the damage was done for me by then. It didn’t help that he sort of shamed her for her outfit earlier on in the book. I am 100% not down with that, no matter how it’s mitigated by other circumstances. Annie was a fascinating creature. I loved that she was unapologetic in her flightiness — which, it wasn’t necessarily flightiness, I just don’t know how to describe it. I loved the way she embraced the things she loved, and did them with gusto. Her scrapbooking obsession was adorable, and I kind of loved the unfinished sudoku puzzles, because I can totally vibe. I love that we got to see her balance her natural tendency to abandon things when she finally found something she was passionate about. She was forthright, tenacious, and eclectic. See? A super strange mix, but she made it work. I was worried in some moments that their romance would fall under certain romance traps, but in general I loved the way their relationship developed and changed. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed a few of the secondary characters — especially Vivian and Rosanna! They both surprised me, and I loved what those relationships brought to our main characters. All in all I really enjoyed this book, it was just missing something to catapult it further up the ratings for me. But can I just say that the epilogue was everything I love about epilogues in books? It was unbelievably satisfying.

    Absolutely loved it!

Wow!!! I absolutely adored THE BEAT MATCH! This was my first time reading one of Kelly Siskind's books, so I can totally confirm that this is a series that it's okay to read out of order because I wasn't lost at all. I'm definitely eager to read more of her books though, so I can't wait to go back to read the first two Showmen books! Back to THE BEAT MATCH though, I thought that it was funny, sweet, sexy, and it totally pulled on my heartstrings!!! I loved Wes and Annie so, so much! Wes was broody, but super thoughtful and Annie was so feisty and funny!!! Their banter had me laughing constantly, and I really loved how you could truly feel their friendship and how close they were to each other. Wes and Annie were fantastic apart, but together they were even better! This is probably my favourite friends-to-lovers romance that I’ve ever read and I thought Kelly did a wonderful job balancing the friendship part of the story with the budding romance. It was so easy to feel their strong friendship and bond, and also feel their growing attraction and the subtle shift in their relationship towards romance! The story was quick-paced and riveting, and the music elements of the story were amazing too!!! Overall, I thought that THE BEAT MATCH was amazing! It was full of wonderful characters, the romance was fantastic, the writing was superb, and the story was so unique and fun! I highly recommend it to anyone who loves friends-to-lovers romances, broody heroes, feisty heroines, and unique storylines!

    My 2020 summer book pick!

First I’d like to thank Book Funnel and Kelly Siskind for a digital advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review This is the third book in the showman series, each book is a stand alone read; although I did love how the author tied a character from her second book “Don’t Go Stealing My Heart” into this one! could be fun to see those two characters reconnect further at some point. Another amazing book featuring a strong independent leading lady and of course her leading man. A lot of fun, a little sex and some turbulence makes this my favourite summer read for 2020! Annie is whimsical and artistic and flighty; she grew up in Foster homes and poor Weston is organized, prim and proper, wealthy and demanding- bossy is how Annie puts it. The disapproval of Westons family along with their mismatched lives puts some huge obstacles in their path but when they say opposites attract that’s putting it mildly with these two! A love hate relationship with two people who couldn’t be more different but the bond of a lost loved one joins them together and their love for Music
