    Heartwarming generational stories

This was truly a heartwarming story. Written by three generations of the same family about three generations of a fictional Amish family made it extra special. One quilt given in love transfers to three generations over a periods of years in three novellas. What impressed me about the first novella, Luella's Promise by Wanda Brunstetter, was the fact that even though Louella and Atlee loved each other they were unwilling to go against her parent's desires for them not to marry. They had respect for her parents decision even though it meant they couldn't be together. Karen's Gift by Jean Brunstetter, was a reality check in that Amish couples don't always agree or get along 100% of the time. Karen wanted to be close to her family but her husband moved her away from them when they married. This was a bone of contention between the two of them. Imagine standing by your groom on your wedding day and just when the time comes to say your vows he bolts out of the ceremony on a run. That's what happens in Roseanna's Groom by Richelle Brunstetter. When John is confronted by a devastated Roseanna, he cannot give her a reason for why he ran out. She is embarrassed and turns to self blaming. These three generational stories center around a Christmas quilt that is passed down from mother to daughter throughout the years. The quilt has a scripture embroidered in the corner from Psalm 31:3 This verse gives comfort along with the quilt to the person possessing it at the time. This was a quick read for me because it was so well written and entertaining. I loved that the characters, although older, transferred to each story for a continuation of the family history. I hope these three authors plan more collaborations in the future. Well done! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and was not required to write a review, positive or otherwise.

The Beloved Christmas Qult by W. Brunstetter

The Beloved Christmas Quilt: Three Stories of Family, Romance and Amish Faith by Wanda E. Brunstetter, Jean Brunstetter and Richelle Brunstetter All three stories are tied together by a beautiful quilt that is passed down from generation to generation. The lives of these Amish women all face life challenges, loss, romance and love, second chances and faith. There is hope and God’s promise within the scripture verse lovingly stitched into the quilt, "For Thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for Thy name's sake lead me, and guide me. Psalm 31:3", (KJV...one of my favorite verses) that in time bring comfort, hope and peace to each woman. A collection of heartwarming stories. 1-Luella’s Promise by Wanda E. Brunstetter 2-Karen’s Gift by Jean Brunstetter 3-Roseanna’s Groom by Richelle Lynn Brunstetter ~I received a copy of this book from Barbour Publishing/author (no monetary gain were exchanged), this is my honest review~I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255~

    Love the premise

This is a multigenerational book, with stories written by Bestselling Author Wanda Brunstetter; her daughter-in-law; and her granddaughter. That alone, is a keepsake to hold dear to your heart, (especially in their family). It is well written, starts off with a promise about a very special quilt. The next story is about a woman's gift to her family. The final story is about a groom that doesn't have staying power, usually not a problem amongst Amish men. Each of the stories is interwoven around succeeding generations of an Amish family. Very heart-warming to see that the Amish have some of the very same struggles that we "in the world" have. I have enjoyed these stories immensely. I will treasure them always, bringing them out year after year to reread & capture the meanings.
