    Very emotional

This book had so many elements to it. A telling to three daughters about a past of their mother and father they never knew. Accidentally coming across some baby clothes and other items hidden in an old hope chest in the attic brings lots of questions. A brother they never knew about and a former marriage of their mother. Mattie had so much loss in such a short time. Lots of grief to work through. Lifelong friend Leroy tries his best to help her through this tough period but has little success. I really felt sorry for Leroy. He kept getting slapped down no matter what he tried to do for Mattie. He wouldn't give up and kept trying to get through to her. How many rejection letters will it take for him to finally understand and give up? This had been hidden for many years and the telling to her daughters was a healing for Mattie all its on. This story requires lots of tissues so keep a box handy. I enjoyed the characters and how good friends can help get you through a crisis. This was a wonderful conclusion to the series. Happy tears now, not sad ones! I received this book through the Fiction Guild and was not required to write a review, positive or otherwise.

    THE BELOVED HOPE CHEST

Final book in the Amish Herloom series by Amy Clipton. THE BELOVED HOPE CHEST. Secrets hidden, now found by her daughters, time to tell. She was married before, his name was Isiah, bank robbery and he was gone.4 months have gone by, she is facing her childhood friend, Leroy He was starting a new business, and needed a wife for the house. Her child would have a father, and she wouldn't be a burden to her family any more. For Leroy, he has loved her from a far, since he first meet her. To have a wife and children in this big house, he would feel truly blessed. He would wait, and maybe in time she would come to love him. Then letter comes, she only wants Friendship, she wants time to grieve, and hope he would understand. He knew when she gave the Dr her married name, that she wasn't married to him. He sets her free. Would they, or could memories from childhood unite. A beautiful story of hopes and dreams can they come again. Given ARC by Net Galley for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

    Definitely have a hankie nearby.

Oh my goodness. When I read the reviews on this story and one of the reviews said to have a box of tissues she was not joking! This story will touch the most tender parts of your heart. The struggles Mattie had to go through took my breath away and I found myself grieving for her and Leroy. But, trusting in a loving Father in Heaven can get us through anything. If we let Him.
